Did Anyone buy this game honestly for MP or are you a Mass Effect Fan?

Bought it on release for SP alone. Tested multiplayer out of curiosity once, died in wave 1, tried a pug, got kicked immediately and never touched MP again. Took me a year to rediscover it and have played nothing else since then.

I never thought I could get hooked into a MP game like this. God, my wife hates ME3MP!

Purchased for single player. I didn't try multiplayer until months later.

ive played ME1 and ME2 dozens and dozens of times, trying out all the various choice combos, romance choices etc etc. I didnt have xbox live so i wasnt intending to get MP, but then when i found it v hard to get a high score i decided to try it out. It was teh first MP i ever played.

Still playing MP. Havent even finished a 3rd play through of SP .

Honestly, I wa s a fan of the Mass Effect series. I played the Demo, loved the levels for SP... but they were not enough. So I played MP, and loved it.

After playing the real SP, and experiencing the train wreck of bad writing and that horrid trash they call the ending(s) - my only recoup was to play the MP.

The SP is a disaster. The MP is a ton of fun.

ironically, at first i was irritated that MP was the fastest way to build up galactic readiness so i grudgingly tried it.
now i can barely remember SP...

This topic comes up a lot...

I never have a problem re-living my disgust with SP. Then I do... and I cry. Then I get back to MP and try to forget the question was ever asked.

I WAS a fan from ME1. MP saved the franchise for me.

Bought it for SP, immediately fell in love with MP, managed to keep my sanity because of the MP crew, and I won't forget it.

Didn't even think I would play any MP. Was I ever wrong about that.

Been an ME fan since the first was released. Even thought MP would "ruin" the game potential.

I fought against playing it for a good month. Then I tried it out and became hooked.

Bought a copy on Xbox for SP, and it was disappointing. Bought a copy on PC strictly for MP; it's been amazing.

Came to the party for the single player, stayed for the multiplayer. Have no doubt though, I'll purchase the next ME for the campaign as well, but this time I won't wait so long to start playing MP.

Bought it for SP, of course - I'd never buy a game for MP ... oh, wait...

I still judge Mass Effect as a single player game.

It just so happens that the MP add-on was the best value in the game.

Bought it because I'm a fan but the multiplayer is an awesome addition. I'm hoping ME4 has multiplayer as well, improved upon of course.

Oh Hell no!

I purchased this game strictly for the single player.

I was convinced that MP would suck hard.

I was wrong. SP ending soured me on this game.

But it turned out that MP is hella fun!
MP is by far a superior experience to SP. Highly addictive and rewarding.

Wouldn't have bought my own copy if the multiplayer didn't exist.

(My brother is a huge fan, so I just kinda borrow his copies when I want to play the other games.)

I bought the game solely for the single player because I am a fanatical mass effect fan. However, that ending...

That ending was obnoxious to say the least. I had may be 9 ME2 savegames for importing in to ME3, but I was immediately put off by the ending.

I was upset and wanted to get my money's worth. So I looked to multiplayer. And then I got addicted to it.

The Bioware's prelaunch claims about their commitment to creating an awesome single player experience have backfired. The claim that they are commited to making Shepard's story the best it can be and that the multiplayer is merely an "optional extra" or "sugar on top" is wrong.

Multiplayer ended up being the real heart of the game. And the single player feels like a chore once the player has seen that ending. Multiplayer has no "ending" which can be messed up. Thank God for that.

I've played all 3 games, only after I beat SP did I play MP.

So I'm a ME fan but the MP is the ultimate icing on the cake. Helps to cancel out the foul aftertaste of the endings.

Exactly, same here. I played ME1 and ME2 several times, but I simply cannot do that with ME3, but the MP keeps me with the game and forget the disappointment.

Bought it for the single player and then played the MP demo and didn't look back... I still haven't got round to finishing the single player.
