Thinking about making another go at Pinnacle Station on Insanity.
I'm good with survival and capture, but the timed events are frustrating due to the abundance of Immunity going around.
Any suggestions for beating time trial & hunt?

Well, try taking Kaiden and Liara with you, and make very liberal use of lift, warp and singularity. If your target is floating in the air, it can't activate immunity.

Doesn't that run the risk of having the enemy fly across the map, eating away at the time you have to kill it?

Use Liara and Kaiden, when you use Lift or Throw and you kock enemies off the map they die. Lift is literally an I win button, except in subterranean I believe. For time trials dont stop moving, use the power wheel to pause the game and target enemies, also abuse warp and overload. For hunt, specifically Volcano which is hell on earth, what worked for me was leaving the squad members, Liara and Kaiden/Wrex to the right of where you spawn, by near that walled path and then positioned myself on the far opposite side, near the catwalk.

Okay. Any suggestions for ammo?

Same as the rest of the game:Arisugawa wrote...

Anti-Personnel/Shredder Ammo for organics
Armor-Piercing/Tungsten for synthetics
Even though Pinnacle Station enemies are supposed to be holograms/kinetic barriers, the game still treats them as organic and synthetic enemies, so Shredder and Tungsten ammo will deal extra damage.
I think that Krogan do not regenerate health after "dying" in Pinnacle Station; but do not quote me on that as I have not played Pinnacle Station in a while.

If you dont have any shredder or tungsten, use inferno, everything else is just bad (damage-wise).

I've been using Inferno X, but I am switching up to Tungsten VII and Shredder VII for this. It honestly doesn't seem to be making much difference. Volcanic Hunt is really annoying me.

For PC, activate developer console, type: giveitem self 10 x_wammo_harpoon
Enjoy the best ammunition of the game ... that doesn't care about Immunity.

No console on the 360. And besides, enabling content like that defeats the purpose of defeating the level on Insanity.

Its really hard, maybe theres a youtube video that better explain it? I did volcano hunt in my 6th try as a pistol vanguard with Liara and Kaiden as squaddies.

Done, after taking an extended break from it.
I was playing as an Infiltrator, so I primarily used a pistol and grenades with the High Explosive X upgrade. I had greater success with Ashley and Wrex, believe it or not, than with Liara or Kaidan, though I did use Wrex and Liara on the Tropical Hunt, which actually took me more time than the Volcanic Hunt.
In terms of frustration, though, the worst level was probably Warehouse Time Trial.
Ahern's mission was surprisingly easy by comparison, once again with Wrex and Ashley. Used a sniper rifle with High Explosive Rounds (Rail Amp VII x 2) to clear the stairwell by the first AA gun we used for cover.
Glad it is done. The spectre of having not completed this DLC on Insanity is now off my back.
Thanks for your help!
