A good game, but not in the same class as Dragon Age. I found the story lines a lot more cliche and linear - the word 'marine' should be henceforth banned in all Sci-Fi

more cliche than elves dwarves and humans in a fantasy epic with dragons? please

I'm serious when I say that I think the ME universe (as established in ME1 and expanded on in other media and now the 2nd game) has the strength to go wherever BW wants it to. BW has created a real gem and they could take it to Star Wars/Star Trek levels if they play their cards right and don't squander their universe. Yes, this universe definitely feels like it has that potential to break into the "mainstream."

It's a fantastic game. The sidequests can get a bit dull, and places like Noveria and Feros lose most of their appeal after a third or fourth playthrough, but damn, the latter stages of the game completely make up for that.

I loved the game but I had a few issues with it.

1. cheap shots/one hit kills... while a rockets in real life would kill in a game it is just annoying...I can't tell you how many times I have died just because I got hit by ONE rocket, also accidently touching lava is a on hit kill.

2. skill progression while progressing the tech lines actually had a use ,they each improved each other gave some actual use (i.e electronics improved shield/ repair for mako and allowed hacking) biotic line did no such thing and every level after the power just improved that one...this caused me just to wait until I had enough points to get to the next level.

other then those two I pretty much loved every aspect of the game

But surely the side quests aren't as bad as in DA, don't you agree? At least we got some kind of spoken explanation why we're driving around on any planet, and usually a conclusion as well. In DA, we get a chantry board. <_<

I prefer the board to the endless and annoying driving to some out of the way spot and button puzzle, and then there's a mountain you can't get up pr I didn't have the electronics skill to decode for some random artifact, or I got to collect some mineral that I'd found a bunch of and does nothing to actually help me.  With the board at least there was direction and some story.
