Cutting it way too close to their target release window, if you ask me. If they are still thinking and planning a Fall 2013 window, showing the game for the first time mid-June is really risky.

I don't understand your assesment of it being risky.

Say it releases in November or December, that's 4-5 of full on marketing. Certain, more popular series, have a much longer marketing time because it's how they get the hype up.

Skyrim didn't start showing hard details until much closer to release as well. I don't think it's this huge death sentence as you seem to believe.

Skyrim was revealed well over a year before it was released. We're not talking about hard details, we're talking about a simple reveal. And considering ~40% of Dragon Age ]['s sales came from pre-orders, it is a huge deal to have such a small window before release. And if they release it in December then they miss out on a massive chunk of Black Friday sales.
And really, releasing it this Holiday season would be stupid. They'd have to compete with new consoles. And even if the game is being released on the new consoles just being a launch title means it would have limited sales.

The PC market will still be there. And unless Microsoft really has gone nuts, their next machine won't require an internet connection, so it'll sell like gangbusters like the last one did. Meaning that install base isn't gonna be tiny for long. And if DA3 really is this 'blow your socks of' game the devs keep teasing, it'll sell like gangbusters, too.

No speculation yet until I see the trailer to determine possible plot areas we may explore.

I think this is a fair indication there'll be some kind of DA3: Inquisition video/trailer at E3:

Nice catch, indeed!

so, there's DA trailer. CnC trailer.....

And 2 mystery trailers. All for E3? I wonder what the other 2 are? Too early I'd think for any ME info. New IP? Kinda early for that, too?

Intriguing, nonetheless.

The PC market is just a fraction of the market. More units were sold on consoles for Origins and ][. They can't just develop for PC and expect to sell as well as the previous installments.
Every indicator points to the NextBox being "always on" so assuming otherwise makes no sense. The rest of your post really makes no sense either. What does an assumption of the NextBox not being "always on" have to do with the longevity of Inquisition's sales? And since when does quality always equate to sales?

I think Chase does trailers for a fair chunk of EA's game brands, even though he's listed as part of Bioware. For example, I'm pretty sure Command & Conquer isn't being developed by a Bioware label studio anymore (since everyone legitimately got grumpy about the Bioware brand being slapped on an unrelated studio, game and genre purely for marketing reasons).

As far as I know he's been the person behind all of ME3's publicity and promotional videos (like the announcement of the Collectors Editions) so it's possible he's making E3 videos for other games that have already been announced.

Though I wouldn't turn down a reveal trailer for any DA3 Collector's Edition(s) that are in the works.

I hope one of them is for the new ip, it would great if it’s a new sci-fi but different from Mass Effect.

I'm going to speculate at least two DA trailers: the standard one for SP and one for MP to show off features, how it works, etc. Hell for all we know their entire online presence will get a revamp once DA3 is revealed or released, including these forums.

I wouldn't like that. I'm hoping the MP isn't significant enough to warrant a trailer.

But this isn't time to discuss MP, so I'll leave it at that.

I just hope we see something soon. Is it bad I'm ancticipating the reveal more than the actual release of DA3??

this..
seriously, i only worry about the money to buy a new vga and buying 64bit windows since i assume that DA3 in all its glory(max quality) would require more than 4GB memory

i think there wouldn't be a MP because its already explained in here.

on topic: a cgi trailer roughly gives an idea of what kind of journey DA3:I will take us..
and also a new posterboy (i really love to tweak their faces to my liking) hopefully this time it would be a girl as the new poster face of DA3:I

Did the ME3 MP have trailers and other related publicity for it? Actual question; I don't know since I haven't played any of the ME games, so I don't really follow them.

I transcribed that panel (see sig), so I know it well. Here is the relevant bit...

Q: What are the chances of seeing some sort of co-op/multiplayer setting in that [the Next Big Thing]. Because it felt like Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II would have been great... My friends all enjoy playing the games, and we enjoy watching each other play the games, and it would have been great to have them hook up a controller or another PS3 and have them play with me.

A Mike: I would say that... Let me put it this way: if we're going to pursue co-op, ever, where we would start would be to take a long long hard look at how Baldur's Gate did it, that shared experience with your friends, and make sure that was priority one. Whether that's going to happen soon, in the future at some point, it [sic] really can't say right now, there are a lot of technical questions before that could really be answered. But that would be the approach we'd use. We've certainly talked about it, like you know, "How would we do it?", "Would we do something like Mass [Effect]?" which, honestly, is a very cool system. But I think that the big thing would be, take a look at Baldur's Gate, the kind of experience that that offered where you could sit down with three or four friends over the internet and just pile through some adventure together. And make sure that we nailed that. And then from there, I don't know, sky's the limit, I guess.

The existence of MP in DA3 has never been confirmed OR denied, nor has it ever been stated what, if any form, of MP DA3 will have. The ONLY thing we have to go on is that EA requires their games to have some sort of "online component," which can be as minimal as the online component that already exists with DAO and DA2.

I don't think Bioware has enough teams to work on the next ME, DA3, the new IP and Jade Empire 2 simultaneously :P

Plus all of the leads and writers who worked on JE and who are still with Bioware are already busy with DA3, SWTOR or developing Casey's new IP.

That being said, I'd love a sequel to Jade Empire.

(Glancing at JE credits, Aaryn Flynn was a programmer under... Programming Lead Mark Darrah?!)

The MP mode got a trailer and discussion with the lead developer when it was initially announced, plus a big long post by Chris Priestly about what to expect. The publicity for the MP mode probably wasn't pushed as much as the singleplayer, although I think at that point the team was perhaps wary of a fan backlash.

There was, though, quite a gap between the game's initial announcement and the reveal of the MP mode - almost a year.

If it ends up being a CGI trailer, then I won't be interested.  A video made from in-game footage/cinematics is one thing, but CGI trailers I can't stand since they rarely ever tell you anything imporant (like graphics, combat, art style.)  I think they would be better off saving money and not making a CGI trailer than to waste time and money on one.

It most likely won't be a CGI; the game will be released at the end of this year, which means they most likely have some form of in-game footage to show us.
Though I will be incredibly disappointed if they don't.
Still a CGI trailer and in-game footage would be perfect.
And I also love the fact that they have been tight lipped about the companions that we might be getting; not knowing who will end up with me in the game just makes it that much more exciting, I hope they keep things this way.

I love CGI trailers. Sure, they don't tell us anything about the game, really, but I don't expect them too. They get me pumped for the game and that's important to me. I can deal with everything else being a surprise.

This guy generally works with gameplay footage and cinematics rather than CGI, I think they employ other outside studios for the more expensive CGI trailers.
