For those new players out there that are interested in leeching,
here is a guide for you. By following these principles, you will earn credits in the
most efficient way possible.

DON’T DO THIS

  • Immediately upon starting the match, hide in a corner somewhere safe only firing your weapon every 30 seconds.
  • Rush into a spawn at the start of every wave and get sync killed
  • Leach off of low to mid-tier players (non-maxed Gold weapons & Gear). These players may or may not be able to extract without your help and it will waste everyone’s time & consumables.

Just sitting there and being useless or dead, you will drag out the match for longer than necessary and the team will kick you ASAP when they get back to the lobby. You may even get called names or sent a mean message. These things may hurt your feelings and make you feel bad. After you are kicked, you will have to spend the next 20 minutes finding another “mark” or “host”. Remember, no one gets paid sitting in the lobby or searching for matches.

INSTEAD, DO THIS

  • When looking for a lobby, try your best to find a player(s) with either a high challenge score, N7 rating, UR Weapon at X or all of the above. This will be your “mark” or “host”. You need to do everything you can to appease this person!
  • Equip consumables! This is important, don’t cheap out! Savvy veterans know how to spot leachers. The first sign of no consumables/no gear and you will get kicked immediately. If you don’t get kicked, you may spook your “host” and they will leave the lobby.
  •  Make sure that your consumables/gear match your loadout (SMG Gun = SMG Amp, etc). You need to look like you will be a good teammate.
  •  Use a character that matches the rest of your team. If your best player(s) on the team are using Adepts, choose a player with Biotics. Engineers, go Tech. The Human Sentinel is a good choice because that kit has good survivability (Tech Armor), Warp primes (and debuffs) and Throw can detonate both Tech and Biotic powers.
  • Follow your best player around the map and support them the best you can. Spam a biotic primer (Warp, Reave, etc) for Adepts or a Tech power like Incinerate for Engineers. Pick them up when they go down ASAP.
  • Do your best not to get killed, survivability is key. Veterans tire of constantly reviving people so try to use cover as much as possible. It is better to stay out of the way than get in over your head and die constantly.
  • If you are going to go down, try to do so near an ammo crate so the person reviving you can get some more ammo while they are picking you up
  • Shoot your weapon as much as you can
  • Participate in objectives! Try to do the 4 device/package objectives for the team so the good players can keep killing things and keep you safe.
  • If the rest of the team is using mics, you should use yours too if you have one. You don’t need to talk all that much, being quiet is better actually. But if you see your best player about to get sync killed, call it out!
  • Use the time in between matches to ask questions and get tips on what would help the team finish matches faster. This is an important step because it helps sell the illusion that you are “trying”.
  • When you get killed, use that time to observe the other player(s) in Spectator Mode and to call out enemies sneaking up behind them.
  • Great players love having their Epeen stroked. So be sure to tell them how wonderful they are after the match and that you appreciate the opportunity to play with them. Words such as “WOW! I have never seen someone play so well!”, “Thanks so much for letting me play with you, can I play with you again?” or “You topped the scoreboard AGAIN, you are SOOOO awesome”.
  •  If you end up leaching more than 3 matches from the same person(s), you should send them a “Thank You” message when your gaming session is over.

Yes this leeching strategy involves a little more effort, but in the long run you will earn more credits per hour than just sitting there doing nothing like you have been. Your little contributions will save time each match and increase the probability that the good player(s) will want to keep you around. You will be earning fast credits in no time!

I can appreciate your idea, but by giving examples on how to leech/circomvent the auto-kick, you are just making it easier for those ****s that would in fact do this and hadn't yet know (or are just starting to play).

I would edit those "Don't do this" out. It just gives the wrong people the wrong ideas.

Would bang in the airlock then open it on us both while laughing maniacally!

I would carry anyone who did all of the above. (E-peen stroking optional)

Though to be fair they wouldn't even be leeching at that point, just getting carried. I'll play with anyone making a legitimate effort and if they follow those rule for "leeching" they would be making one.

Edit: Also, you are right, they will make much more money per hour with your method.

I actually wonder how so many leechers think they can get away with the "DON'T DO THIS" behaviour, and keep trying. If you're not getting paid well, what's the point?

Hahah nice. I like to leech by topping the scoreboards to build credibility. Then, after the 2nd or 3rd game, I will constantly "Leeroy Jenkins!" and blame lag, even if hosting.

This not only allows me to sit back and enjoy an easy game while making and eating a sandwich in between loads of laundry, it also lets PUGs top the scoreboards.

Win win, my friend. Win win.

All they really have to do at the end is... stop trying to fight all by themselves.
Just stick to other players... it`s hard to ignore a player if he is dead right next to you.
Also sticking together makes the game so much easier.

Few times I told underwhelming team to stick together because I could not take this anymore, and it made the game so much easier when they listened.

Somethings are things they just have to learn.. but sticking together when you are weak should come like instinct.

Actually the OP is being sarcastic....
Ironic would be someone following the OP's advice and still thinking they were 'leeching'.

"Stick with me" I said to the N7 lvl 6 last night. Too bad I was using my Drell Adept with Adrenaline Mod. xD

At least I was fast enough to run across the map and get that 15 revive medal on wave 6 lol

The best way i find is to use this juggernaut build
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Soldier/GethJuggernaut/DKQHR/ReegarCarbine1BG1AA1///CyclonicModulator1/ShieldBooster1/

Spam that heavy melee to keep alive so whoever has the big guns can kill things without running from bosses. If you see there's no one with big guns, exit that game ASAP because then the team actually NEEDS you which is bad. Very bad.

Also when you see a phantom, heavy melee that. The host will love it when you do that because it bypasses the DR phantom bug for them. Getting on at least one player's good side means there won't be 3 kick marks and 2 kick marks means you get to spam more heavy melee again.

Do objectives. Use up to 2 rockets, 2 ops packs and 2 medigel so you look like a credits poor newbie player that's trying (and doing objectives gets you credits in the first place so don't be dumb to not do it).

You have the veneer of respectability and looks like you're contributing something (and you actually are so if that insults your leeching senses, you will want to avoid the juggernaut and use the volus instead)

Don't take offense bud, the OP is slyly encouraging people to switch from leeching to being a Pug who is learning and trying.
