Hello there. I have helped Drizzt with gnolls but he is not speaking to me. You know, giving advice about bandits and what have you. Not that it matters much but it bothers me.
On a different note- Drizzt kill my pet gnoll, very annoying, considering I have used a scroll to charm him (the gnoll). Anybody else had that expirinece?

In my experience, he won't talk to you until all the gnolls that started in his initial vicinity are dead. Due to morale failure, it's possible some of them ran far away on the map. Clear the entire map, maybe even going to parts you've already been and you might find them, then return to talk to Drizzt.

Not that exactly. But in my experience Drizzt has been down-right rude. He ate my good-berries and didn't even say thank you! Plus I heard he trashed his hotel room at the Jovial Juggler.

That Drizzt is all rock-star full of himself but in my opinion, he's just a jerk!

Btw. On a related note: an amusing Drizzt comic I saw recently.

.... so I swept the whole area, killed everything that moved and Drizzt still won't talkto me. Could it be broken because I have left the area without killing all the gnolls and when I came back they would be gone so I coudn't kill them?

I suppose it could just be a bug, no idea if there's a fix for that though. I doubt this is the case, but you are having your highest CHA character talk to him right? You are not having a CHA 3 character talk to him? Maybe he ignores people if their CHA is too low.

Also did you go onto the dock? Maybe a gnoll there.

I always have Imoen talking to him.

Dock? The one with a fisherman? I think I was everywhere but I will give the dock a try. Failing that I might just as well try to kill Drizzt. I hate having loose ends.

In my current set-up he always attacks my pet gnolls, which means that I have no compunction about retalliating. However, why should I lose reputation for attacking a drow who attacks me first? That's just wrong. I make sure that I have a reputation of 20 and have finished shopping before going to meet him as getting rep back up to 20 takes some time.

Peaceful at heart??? No way!!! He kills first and asks questions afterwards.

Thanks for the advice Grimwald, it is certainly worth to do the shopping first.

And I do agree that one should not loose reputation if one kills when attacked first.

Do you know if there is a 'fair 'way of killing Drizzt? I.e. not exploiting the fact that this is a computer game (pathfinding etc).

As far as I've heard, almost all the ways of beating Drizzt involve cheese (exploiting game quirks). Drizzt gets 10 APR with powerful weapons, massive magic resists, high AC, etc - impossible to fairly tank.. Only fair way I've heard is spamming the monster summoning wand/skeletons and use ranged attacks and hope you kill him before he kills all your summons then you.

The problem is that you cannot steal everything.

However it might be easier to kill him if you pickpocket first.

A lot would depend on the set-up.

If you have the Drizzt Saga installed, he joins your party, but only he can use the weapons.

You can't pickpocket the main hand but the off hand (+3 sword) and his potions are up for grabs.

If you have the right pet then he can repeat the pickpocket until a failed at which point you can hide him in your backpack so that the Elf doesn't get all red.

I play vanilla with ToSC, so I guess pickpocket first and then kill if it makes it easier.
