In random order from one to fourth, Liara is fifth though: Grunt, James, Joker, Garrus, Liara*. Although fifth character could very well be Zaeed, Kasumi or Tali too.

*probably because I liked LotSB.

[Ferretinabun]

1. Mordin (The best character simply because he given a wonderfully articulate defence of a morality position that seems repugnant to (Paragon) Shep. Then the humour, the voice... Easily the most 3-dimensional character.)

2. Samara (The fact that you can hit on her and she'll turn you down makes her a really great character. She's also a wonderful paladin character with all its strengths and weaknesses. Her ME2 plot is also awesome even if her ME3 one is silly).

3. Joker (Because he's awesome. Even with his technophilia.)

4. Saren (A great antagonist: ie, one whose attitude and philosophy does actually make a certain sense, instead of just being evil or insane.)

5. Tali (I think largely because of the voice. Can't help it.)

[L2 Sentinel]

1. Kaidan Alenko - Most relatable, down to earth character, imo. He's a lot more powerful than he lets on. He doesn't feel the need to flaunt his abilities.

2. John Shepard - It's hard not to form an attachment to the character you are roleplaying.

3. Mordin Solus - He has one of the best story arcs in the trilogy.

4. Kasumi Goto - Just a quirky and fun character to lighten the mood, but still fit the tone of the game.

5. Urdnot Wrex - A well written character. I like that he can be proud and stubborn, but still listen to reason.
