Sorry for the loss, but I actually went and woke my wife up to tell her the story... She can sleep with a laugh on her face tonight... It is sad but the irony makes it hilarious.

Well, Finston, poor fish :(

Reminds me of my turtle, that killed my little... erm, well, parrot bird (german name would be Wellensittich, wikipedia said, it's "Budgerigar" in english? Is that so? x_X).
Yes, I'm serious.
Little Birdy was often allowed to fly around free, and happened to sit next to me on the floor. That's like 25 years ago, I was a child back then. Also, my turtle was not far, eating some grass or dandelion or whatever. Quite the idyllic picture...
Then my grandma come in... tripped over the turtle and felt right on top of the parrot. Well.

So, see, Finston, dying to a Dragon Age box isn't the worst thing that could happen to you, we'll remember you! :)

Go put an xbox game in the box and throw it in a fishtank overnight, see where it ends up.

I think I'll send this one in to the Mythbusters.

lol yeah, sounds like something they would do these days.

Hrm..."Budgerigar" is technically the correct name for the bird, but I am willing to bet that 90% of engish speakers have never heard the word, and it dosn't exactly roll of the tongue.  The common name is a derivative, "Budgie" or, almost as common Parakeet.

A grandma-tripping bird-killing turtle sounds like an awesome pet, in a way.;)

Well, to be honest, Grandma wanted the turtle out, to be never seen again, so it got to an animal shelter the same day. At least it's a story that gets told every now and then in my family, and is always good for some laughs. Budgie it is, then, thanks :)

So last night one of my friends was over ad decided to play some DOA3 on my Xbox while I was out picking up beer.  He ejected Dragn Age, put it nicely in the case and put it on top of my theatre system.

Just now I was typing away on the forums and decided to go turn on the news.  As I stood in front of the TV something caught my eye...a large white object in my fishtank.  Closer inspection revealed this to be the Dragon Age box, still containing the disc.  It must have slid off of the theatre system some time during the night.

I quickly um....fished...it out and much to my dismay discovered that it had apparently landed squarley on Finston Churchill the Second, my Pterophyllum scalare, pinning him to the tank bottom where he unfortunately perished.

As I gave poor Finston a porcelain burial I considered what a strange and unlikely death he suffered.  I can only imagine him pinned at night, silenty screaming "A plague on both your houses* to both me and Dragon Age.

This is the kind of situation that isn't stated in the EULA. Demand restitution in the form of a free copy of DA: Awakening.

Well, I think it's sad,.. but there're some details that have me wondering.

Most people I know learned not to put media boxes on top of theatre systems during the magnetic storage era, but your friends are maybe younger? (I know, the reason is gone, but the spinal column aversion remains)

But also, everybody I know with a fish tank, have a glass cover on top, with a clipped corner. Maybe something to invest in?

Sorry for your loss. I'll remember him, when I kill the next darkspawn.

About your DAO game: Always thought you played on PC. Or do you have the game for PC and XBOX360?

That has to be one of the funniest pet deaths I've read, although it sucks to lose your fish.

I hope Bioware puts up a memorial for it on a cemetary in the expansion or sequel:

"Finston Churchill II: First fish to die from gaming" :P
