Sometimes, everybody has to clutch a wave or two. Most of these can be annoying/frustrating, etcetera, but some of them can be FUN either to do or to watch.

I had my most entertaining clutch this weekend. We were playing with a friend and a random, the fourth player left and no one joined. The match was London/Reapers/Gold.

It was going rather smooth until wave 8, when I had to clutch. I got the enemies together and used two rockets to finish the wave. My last two rockets, let me mind you.

Anyway, wave 9 was easy, but on wave 10 we got the hack four objective. The random got sync-killed, just like my buddy after finishing the objective.

My good Volus Sentinel faced the Reaper armada only armed with a Shuriken and a Predator. After some long minutes, the last Banshee desintegrated, the wave was over.

I honestly never ever had this much fun clutching a wave. It must have been amusing to watch as the random sent me a complimenting message after the game.

What was your favorite clutch that you did or witnessed?

TL;DR: I crushed a clutch without using a crutch. And it was damn fun.

you should have said:

"I crushed a clutch without using a crutch and i loved it very much,"

I first read it as "I crushed the dutch."

I was almost gonna snap at you, OP.

My NovaGuard got picked up in almost every wave, and it was the funnniest **** watching you take down the last two banshees with a shuriken/predator combo :wizard: I kept saying we were gonna get so much hate for this from the PUG guy, instead we got a message: "You guys were awesome". One of the most WTF moments in my life, haha.

fabulous! Indeed it was a great game.

Also, killing the last Banshee with the Volus heavy melee was sooo satisfying. Image IPB

I love it when randoms fail to cluch.

Yesterday Reapers/ Giant/ Platinum. On vawe 6 we all get synced, except the Juggie. Only 3 Pyros and 2 Banshees remained. He used all of his medigels and kept meleeing, instead of using a god damn rocket.

I loved the next game even more, 3 volus and a PUG Turian Engineer, we ****ed with him all along, surrounding him, putting up bubbles around him, locking his weapons up with shield boost and yet, he stayed and still no hate letters! :D ( I kinda feel bad about this one, but it was so much fun!)

The one I remember fondly was during the first month on bronze. I was playing a human adept with an avenger and was out of medigel and rockets. The other 3 got taken out halfway into the wave and I had to solo a wave for the first time ever. The thing that made it memorable was the others shouting warnings and compliments in their mics. I still feel proud every time I think about it.

My first gold clutch will always be my favourite. Cerberus/Vancouver with the SI + Paladin. I had no business playing gold games at that point in time, and everyone got synced or stomped. Took me a few minutes, but I managed to take out both Atlases and a handful of phantoms, centurions and engineers. I felt like such a badass afterwards.

I usually have to carry bad pugs when I have ****ty kits. i.e. the most recent GE with Indra vs Collectors on Vancouver,or Justicar vs Reapers on Dagger. Managed to get to waves 6 and 10 accordingly with payment.

Vancouver was very frustrating with randoms, they decided to help me with devices - yay, three players are better than one.

Lodestar... doing charity work, everyone is dead but me, Cerberus/Goddess/Platinum.

I obliterated everything with my Slayer, listening to Painforest Oooo and Ahhh in my ear with amazement as I put on a Slayer-God clinic. It was awesome.

It's gonna sound sad, but the most fun clutch I ever had was a Silver game waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day.

I was very new to Silver at the time. It was an Operation Weekend -- the one where everyone had to extract on Silver or higher with at least one Rebellion character in the squad. I was being a good citizen and running Silver PUG after Silver PUG handing out commendation packs. The only Rebellion character I had at the time was the Ex-Cerberus Adept. I didn't really care for him at all, I was having trouble with his squishiness, and I wasn't entirely sure just what in the world I was doing with him.

It was only a few games into the weekend with this guy when I landed in a Silver lobby (Cerberus/Reactor) with people even more inexperienced than me. I'm talking mostly single-digit N7s, so they were obvious Bronzers stepping up to Silver for the weekend operation. I don't remember the characters save for one - Asari Adept toting a sniper rifle who, even with targets in stasis, couldn't even pull off body shots on them. The others were roughly the same - all going through painful learning experiences.

I was left alone with the Wave 10 objective thanks to all of them getting sync-killed by Phantoms pretty much immediately. Thankfully, it was targets, so I finished the objectives off with all my remaining missiles. Leaving me with no missiles left and the remaining wave budget. I Smashed my way through until I was down to a lone Atlas. Embarrassing, looking back on it. Because I wasn't familiar with the kit and lacked confidence in it and myself, I took forever taking down that Atlas with my Carnifex (when I could've just Smash, roll away, Smash, roll away and quickly taken it down) and this was back before Singularity got overhauled (I think) so I wasn't specced into that at all to help with damage.

But it got done. That was literally the first time I'd ever had to clutch anything, with a kit I wasn't comfortable with. We made it to extraction and that room got commendation packs. Felt good.

Hilarious looking back at how much I hated that Adept back then. Now, he's one of my favorites to PUG Gold with. Thankfully, though, I have grown past trying to take down Atlases with only a Carnifex. Image IPB

Negative.

It was a game with two other BSNers... both quality people, just not Plat badasses. The Superblaze shenanighans came later...

On Platinum? Yeah... he should have.

With more offense and less defense, killing 3 Pyros and 2 Banshees is EZ mode.
