I am wondering about mods, mostly likely from research just mods about Mass Effect 2.. From what I understand, mods are not frowned upon for PC games, which I have, but I've heard to up tp this point I was told there weren't ones. But it looks like I might be mistaken.

I'm wondering where the mods are, and what kind there are. What I'd like in particualr are a save Ashley/Kaidan mod (as in either you save them on Vimire, or they somehow survived the 20kt detonation and wasn't rescued until after Shepard was spaced, which is possible given some of the survivor stories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki), something that while not game breaking, would allow me to get some financial reward for probe mining. By the end of the game the Normandy was carrying more ore than the Nostromo.

Most importantly, is there a mod that will allow you to take advantage of multiple backgrounds? Not stat wise, but say I wanted a Shepard in Mass Effect 1 With the Colonist/War Hero mechanics, but as far as dialouge, was raised on ships, became a delinguint thus her father got an Earth assignment, where Shepard ran with gangs, and to get away from that, they moved to the Colonies, where her father was killed by slavers.

Determined to shape up and atone over the guilt, Shepard signed up as a Marine, was sent to Akuze, almost got eaten. Shell shocked, was given leave on Ellisyum while dischage papers were being preapared, but then  kicked some major ass when the blitz came. She was so infuriated she got the discharge stopped then stompted the Batarians hard, getting most of her troops killed, turning a bloody defeat into a blood stained victory.. And of course have all the dialouge options opn up, with priority given to the selected and mechanically relevent Colonist/War Hero backgrounds.

I figure this would be a play nice mod, as its mostly a flaopvr thing and except for emails, it only affects Mass Effect 1. Does something like that exist? And what else are good mods?
