Pretend there is nothing else in the wave budget. You are going to be fighting Phantoms and you can only carry one weapon and won't have a power to help you.
What do you carry?

But if you're looking for a sidearm to deal with Phantoms, go with Acolyte or Scorpion.

OP, you will probably get more interesting discussion if instead of weapons, you asked for what powers people would bring with them to kill phantoms.

I guess you are looking to take down Phantoms faster, Dave?
Yep, was in a situation last night where I needed to clutch and had a mob of phantoms and dragoons circling in on me. My Harrier wasn't getting the job done, so looking for a second weapon to carry for this situation. I tried the Acolyte but I must be using it wrong, because it takes me 4 shots to kill a phantom with it. With charge up time, that isn't going to work.

Proably more interesting, but not more helpful to me since my problem is when I'm using my Geth Trooper

This has actually happend to me twice on wave 10 gold. It happens when you kill of the wrong (or right) enemies first (I think).DaveT wrote...

The first was just phantoms and the second was phantoms and atlases( imagine fighting 4 phantoms and 2 atlases at all times).

Yeah, I saw your thread on this and made me think of a very similar situation for me last night. It was Phantoms and Dragoons though.

Acolyte to remove barriers then shoot her with the Harrier. If you swop weps fast enough she'll still be staggered.

I find I need two shots to strip the phantom shields. My Acolyte III doesn't do enough damage on its own. I could use gear or a pistol amp I guess. Of course the Harrier would probably be enough to take out those few remaining shields, so not a big deal.

Likely because your Alcolyte is low-level.
With your arsenal I would suggest Falcon. its at level VI, correct?

Ah, in that case, you should consider drill ammo.DaveT wrote...

Phantoms love to take cover and hide, and nothing hides from geth trooper with drill rounds
EDIT: I almost forgot. The geth trooper's heavy melee is very good. The hunter mode will ensure that you will see phantoms before they see you. Purge your fortification, run up to the phantom and then heavy melee. The geth heavy melee doesnt need to lock on to any enemies, fires in all 360 degrees and has a decent radius meaning you can melee the phantom from a safe range. It works pretty well. As stujh mentioned below, the geth heavy melee works a little bit like tech armour.

Wouldn't the acolyte work fine in that case? Acolyte+Flamer eats phantoms for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They go down pretty easy to a melee build if that is what your doing also.
I checked with Narida. http://narida.pytalh...yte3BK5AA1/////
With an Acolyte 3, you do seem to come up just short of the 3075 damage to take out a gold phantom's shields. Adding on either a l1 consumable or pistol damage boosting gear would do it I think.
Honestly, just 1 shot+ letting the flamer melt the last few shields would probably be OK. And melee bypasses shield gate anyway.
Probably the easist thing is to just get 1 more acolyte, which shouldn't be THAT bad.
Scorpion is the best anti-phantom sidearm I think. Falcon/Adas work, but take for freaking ever to kill one.

So much reading comprehension fail in this thread. Over half the posts mention using a power of one sort or another.
