I have ME on both 360 and PC. My PC easily maxes it at 1920x1200 and it's a IPS monitor. However, the game looks better on my 55" LED TV. It's also night and day compared to my old Plasma TV. Seriously, you haven't experienced this game like it was meant to until you play it on a big TV and 5.1 speakers... preferably a LED tv ^_^

It would still look better on the PC monitor because of the high resolution though....
I have 7.1 speaker setup for my computer and soon I'll have 2 more monitors so I can play my games like this 5760x1200 Resolution...yes this is what being a goodboy in school does...but can you achieve that on a 360?

I suggest getting it for whichever system you have your saves on.  Personally, I prefer the 360 for FPS-type games.  <3Halo3<3

I'm only 22, yet when I see posts like this I feel like an old man.

Bah, apparently my attempt at humor failed :(    Just saying, get the version you want.  I'm blasted sure they'll both rock your socks off :)

That looks nice and all, but really how often would you be looking out at the two outside monitors. When I was watching the demo I only really looked at the middle monitor.

PC here. Played on a 52" LG LCD. And a Samsung 24" monitor. I haven't viewed any IQ comparisons but ME1 was virtually flawless for me. There were some bugs but nothing of a game stopper.

As for cords and having family members trip on them there is this new tech out you may want to look into. It's called "wireless". Although I prefer wired controllers and keyboards. No batteries to fuss with. I do have  a wired Xbox 360 controller for my PC though as the controller is superior for some arcade games like Dirt 2 and some flight sims. But I play FPS for the most part and that's where having a KB/Mouse will rock a controller. If they come out with a way to use a KB/mouse for the console it would go a long way to improving the gaming experience for console users at least in first and third person shooters imo.

The only real advantage (debatable) the console has over the PC is it's sameness. If the game works on one, it should work on all. PC's in contrast vary and some vary by quite a bit. That is why PC version rock for some and suck for others. Regrettably, as was the case with ME1 the devs decided not to deal with the issue(s) as soon as they could have.

Consoles are very cost effective to make games for and I see that as interfering with games these days as devs code for consoles and port them to PC and slowly release fixes for them over time. I see consoles as great for the average gamer who enjoys good game play without caring much about the niggles of  PC gaming. Bug fixes, IQ, Mods etc.

One thing I have noticed in some ports is that the PC versions are dumbed down (ported from consoles) and the actual rendered images are too similar (low quality) defered rendering of UT3 is an example. Too many low res textures. So the IQ envelope is never really pushed. It's sad for the end user but a great money maker for devs.

On the topic of pushing the IQ for PC's, Crysis, if any of you were privy to play that game on the PC was and imo still is the defacto standard. Admitidly the devs poorly coded that game and it did require the brute force of a high end machine to overcome some of it. But I have to tell you the crawling around in the bushes at night with the moon lighting your way was VERY convincing. I want to see more of this kind of thing but alas the old hardware in the console can only go so far.

On a positive note from the gaming world for PC's it looks as thought Battlefeild: Bad Company 2 is looking good for the PC.

Sorry, I did go OT a litte. But it has been a bone of contention with this graphics **** for some time now. :D

I know that technically the PC version looks better with the higher resolution, AA and all of that. But when I play it on my TV, the colors become more vibrant and the vistas more awe-inspiring than before. It simply looks better. Of course If I was to use my TV for the PC it would look better, but I'm far too lazy to carry my 16 kg PC.

Anyway, It's hard to describe without pictures or videos. Too bad the only camera that's available to my right now, is my iPhone.

It really just depends on how you like to play, like for me the controller feels more natural but that might not be for others.;)

I prefer console gaming, but I'll be getting ME2 on the PC because of the smoother frame rate, which ME1 had troubles with on the 360.

Yeah I know what you mean, my PC can do 1920 x 1200, but colours are so much deeper and richer on my 42" Bravia.

That says a lot more about the quality of monitor and or colour settings than the platform. ;)

Edit: You do know you can change those thing to a more movie freindly setting in your control panel right? ATI Catalyst has some great options for this.

Well, everything is better on PC (better controls, graphics, cheats, chance of modding), but if your ME1 saves are on 360, get the 360 version 'cos IMO it's not worth playing ME2 if you don't import

I played DAO both on PC and 360. Played on 360 prior to PC. Somehow playing the 360 on my sofa and staring at my 42" TV beats the PC experience. PC has its advantages in that there are cool mods u can do with it.. but 360 is the choice for me.

I like both consoles and the PC but since ME2 is part third person shooter I have to play it on a PC. I tried to play Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, Army of Two and Gears of War 2 on the Xbox but I can't get used to the controls.

Some games are better suited for consoles, like platformers and sports games, but Mass Effect is not one of them.

Handheld himself would rather have the chrysler as it is probably much better on gas.

Handheld likes to save money.

You did not just say that the Xbox 360 version of DA:O beats the PC...

That's.... just not possible.

As for the OP, I'm getting the best of all possible worlds. I'm getting ME2 for PC, playing it on the 42 inch television I have my PC hooked to, and then using an Xbox 360 controller if I feel like laying on my bed while playing it.
