I don't own ME1 for the PC, but I have played it and I would say it is better due to the improvements that were made during porting. However, I prefer the 360 version due to the controls. I cannot abide mouse and keyboard for anything other than an RTS and setting up a gamepad is a pain, and on many games you simply can't.

Ah, my apologies, I misunderstood it as you saying I had a style similar to Darth Trenton. My mistake. Oh, well, oops. ;)

Barring saved games issue, if your PC has the specs for it you should go for the PC version.

Aside from the myriad esoteric, technical and fanboy arguments for either side, theres one issue that nobody has mentioned yet.

PC version is £10 cheaper B).

I originaly played me 1 on the 360 thought it was amazing brilliant.

Now i have the pc version and i find it way more emersive (probaly due to the headset meaning i cant hear the outsideworld) The graphics are much more detailed but due to my current lack of a HD monitor the colours are slightly dull. I also find the control interface much better and i personaly have had more trouble with my xbox than my PC.

Hush, he might strap explosives into your pc if he reads this. Beware of the console ****** you must.

Thanks for the input everyone, I decided to get it on my xbox because 1.) I like using a controller, 2.) the graphics card in my laptop sucks, 3.) I have ME1 on xbox and 4.) someone cancelled their CE so I was lucky to get one yesterday. So I thank everyone for there input and to each there own.

ME2 for xbox, def. I'll most likely switch over to PC for DA, for many modding reasons :)

I have it on both, but will probably go for Xbox. Simply because if I did it on PC, I would have to do another run through ME1 because I scrubbed my PC earlier and lost all my saves.

(And I don't think I could work up the willpower to make it through the Eden Prime - Citadel starting levels again!)

I'm a PC guy, so PC.

I have a Xbox 360. I own the game for both.

But if I can have it my way, I play it on the PC. I'm somewhat of a tech expert, so there's zero hassle involved in making it run on a PC. In fact, I love keeping my computer clean and well functioning. I know exactly what every component is named, where to get their drivers which I update regularly, and my hard-drive is strictly sorted and ordered.

So, obviously ;) Also, I didn't have a console as a kid. My dad had a PC, that he barely used. So I grew up in MS-DOS, and the plethora of shareware games. PC is the platform of my childhood, my teenage years and now my adulthood.

My computer can't run ME1 or ME2 so I play 360. But I play both anyway. I would probably play the 360 version more because of my friends on Xbox Live.

Yeah I know what you mean, my PC can do 1920 x 1200, but colours are so much deeper and richer on my 42" Bravia.

That says a lot more about the quality of monitor and or colour settings than the platform. ;)

Edit: You do know you can change those thing to a more movie freindly setting in your control panel right? ATI Catalyst has some great options for this.

I have a IPS monitor, HP LP2475w to be precise. I don't know if you know what the difference in panels are but IPS monitors are generally the best looking monitors. They have amazing color and all of that. Still, I find ME to look better on my 360. If i played it on my old TV, then I would've to say the PC version looks better. But after I played it on a 55" LED, I can safely say that it isn't the same. At least for me.

Well I support pc version over 360. I never had any bugs, graphics are twice as good as that on 360s and if you like console controllers so much you can plug one into pc and enjoy the game just the same.

The Xbox Live thing is interesting. I like to play on PC because of my friends on Steam. So the social factor of both platforms have an importance as well. That's the reason I dislike playing on Xbox; I feel alone in the world. But on PC, there's always plenty of friends online. (And vice versa for you)

There's my experience (due to the information he wanted, that's what we should have wrote, not fanboyism nor trolling):

I own ME for the pc since it was released and, despites the starting DRM problems on vista (maybe solved in a patch? I don't know, and for sure not the "fault" of BioWare, it was imposed from EA, and the only way I had to play it in the beginning was through a modified executable of the game), now patched and running flawlessly on Windows 7 on my almost 4 years old PC (which can run Crysis Warhead in 1920x1200 on Ultra).
A few days ago, to satisfy my lil bro's interest in this awesome game, I digitally bought it for him on Xbox Live (so he could even get "his" points for the Achievments) and since its start I was a little deluded (that's my personal opinion!)
The only Xbox 360 pros for Mass Effect for me is Garrus face's texture (I know.. there's a lil mod for the pc that fixes it) and maybe a part of the inventory management, besides it I've found it slow in loading the textures and sometimes sloppy when there's too much action, and about the decryption thingie, it's just a thing to get used to, from button pushes to the pc arrows and circles puzzle, same goes for the controller and image color quality, it all depends on how you set your display!

So, in the end, as for my personal opinion, is a PC all the way, and that's why I've preordered the Collector's Edition of ME2 for PC.. yet didn't changed idea even when my brother asked me If I could get it for the X360 so he could play it too.. I might look a bit selfish, but I'd prefer to buy it for him separately later on when the price will drop a bit on Amazon.

About Xbox Live.. I don't think it matters that much for Mass Effect, nor for Mass Effect 2 and neither for Dragon Age: Origins which are merely and purely immersive single player games (Thank God for THAT!!!).

360 and PS3=the non-expensive, very cinematic, clean of bugs and absolutely comfortable way to play a cinematic game.

Oh, come on, dont say such things - those nice people at BioWare do not discriminate platforms like that - their games are equally buggy.

Trethon is just a blind fool, i think PC is much more cinematic and much more comfortable. And about bugs: don't blame the platform, blame the developer. (And BTW there are alot of console games who got bugs)

Is your PC up to the task? If you have a low end PC, the console is the better bet.

Do you prefer the console controller or the keyboard and mouse combo? And despite some PC fans declaration, it is not a fact that the k/m combo is more precise for everyone. I find the console controller much more precise for me.

Do you have ME for the console or the PC. Obviously, go with where the saves are.

Non ME games with mods (Dragon Age)... even though I I prefer the controller from the consoles, the mods are more than enough to edge the PC over the console for certain games.

I own both versions. I loved the 360 version so I picked up the PC version because I heard of the improvements and I prefer the mouse/keyboard for most games.

The PC version is the superior version in every way. If you have the choice to play between the 2 platforms, choose the PC. Anybody saying any differently is biased for one reason or another and will lie to you. I've beaten both versions multiple times, I know what I'm talking about.

I like the Xbox360 and the PC; I wished I could have tried mass effect on the PC. Sadly all I have on me is an Laptop, and I need to save as much GB as I can for college work. Can't we all agree to diagree.

Again, why do FPS games on consoles require a button press to do a quick 180 when on a PC all you do is flick the mouse? A controller tries to do in a MUCH smaller pysical space what a mouse does on a much larger one. IIt does not have the range of motion/precision that a mouse does. That, IS a fact.

Now does that mean that everyone will prefer a mouse? Absolutely not, but lets not get it twisted.

It's a lot like how guns work. The longer the barrel the more accurate a bullet will be over longer distances, that's not debatable, it's physics. A rifle will always be more accurate than a handgun. That doesn't mean however that someone can't prefer a handgun to a rifle because that's what they're accustomed to.

Frankly this is a tired argument.

Yes you aim better on a KB/M.. BUT! You move and shoot better with a controller so over all it just come down to what you prefer.

If there was any justices anyone who mades thread that pit pc/consoles / handhelds against each other would be stricken down with the worse plague possible. All it does is show the ugly side of the gaming world.

Moving I'll give you (although it's really kind of moot considering you do most of your turning with the mouse any way and strafing is exactly the same), but how do you shoot better on a controller? Depressing a trigger actually takes longer than clicking a mouse.

I mean shooting while moving aka not letting go of the trigger and moving to a new spot while giving ground fire to back enemy AI up is far easier to do on a Controller as your working with two Joy sticks VS a "WSAD" and mouse.

Also now your cutting hair who give a feck if it take .5 seconds longer to pull a trigger if that was the case Guns would have a mouse click in RL not a trigger.

Again your giving into fanboyism now.

How is that fanboyism? It's a shorter throw, thus quicker. Good god, now if I post a fact that doesn't reconcile with what you're posting I'm a fanboy? If you are going to debate, DEBATE. Don't start getting into all this fanboy nonsense. Once again, I own every console and I have a gaming rig. It's pretty much impossible for me to be a fanboy of anything when I own them all.
