You enjoyed the utter destruction of everything you did and saw through the 3 games? Because that´s what happened. And if so, what´s about wansgt and grimdark that makes you think "art"? At times this looks like the new 90s.
What was wrong with the 90s?

That's the late 90's. The earlier part, with the Grunge and the no Interweb, ruled.

That's personal interpretation, not a narrative fact. And yes, I enjoyed the original endings - the EC has only made me appreciated the developer's orginal artistic vision more.
Don't be under any illusions - the Extended Cut is NOT a Director's Cut. The scenes, dialogues and exposure it adds were not simply left on the cutting room floor, they NEVER originally intended to be there in the first place. As I said before, if you need the developers to throw you the fan-service bone in order to appreciate the story, maybe you never understood it as well as you thought you did in the first place. Your post above would be proof enough of that, however.
Relays destroyed. All the political and economical map of the galaxy colapses. Normandy stranded on an unknown planet: inbred colony in a few generations + Team Dextro dead from malnutrition. Citadel destroyed.
That all happened pre-EC, narrative facts shown.

Comics. Lots of pointless grimdark and uniforms full of spikes. Among a lot of other bad things we seem to be going back to.

Unless Team Dextro survived and everyone else starved.
More seriously, there are some big assumptions embedded here. Was that planet uncolonized? Even if so, was the entire cluster it's in uncolonized? That would require Normandy to have made quite a relay journey from Sol; at least three jumps. And are you assuming that the Citadel pieces fell out of orbit or something?
Concerning comics, which books are you thinking of? I wasn't reading too much of the stuff back then, but I don't recall spiky uniforms. Though Shade the Changing Man did have a lot of spiky hair. As for pointless grimdark, are you talking about stuff like the Glorithverse period of the LSH?

LSH?
About comics, I (thankfully) missed most, but one would say all was out of character actions to move along plot driven crossovers, hypermusculated guys and women in bathing suits, and so on.
Thinking about it, all that has made a return these late years. New52 for instance.

Legion of Super-Heroes -- the Superboy spinoff that got retconned and then rebooted after DC retconned Superboy out of existence. i'm not sure if the reboot was itself rebooted at some point

I thought it was the Teenage Super Man

The conceptual problem here is that the legend of Superboy had something to do with the Legion's own founding, which turns out to have been deliberately caused by the Trapper. So when he was destroyed and his pocket universe with him, all of Legion history was erased. Same technique as the Abrams Star Trek reboot.

But yeah Mac even said we are still the minority while picking up some award so yeah! Don't fight it! Just don't buy ME4. Don't support EA. Only way to get them to change their business model
The underlined bit is the only part I want to answer:
I disagree I think the protests (especially the creative ones such as the charity and the cupcakes) created by me3 was a significant way of "changing" ea.
Recently EA laid off 10% of its workforce several months after is consumerist award, was it the sole reason it happen? absoultely not, but these things do add up in the end

No I'm sorry EA's model is about money. Almost all of their games have micro-transactions in them now, The Sims is full of micro-transactions now. Until their games stop selling as well then they will revaluate the way they practice. They not Take2 who listen to what people say about their games and then try change. They put out a game with the same formula and get maxium profit for it!!FlamingBoy wrote...
