It comes down to the final battle and as Shepherd enters the room the 'final boss' is alleged to be in, he is confronted by a man with a beard wearing a futuristic armor with two griffons adorning the front of the chestplate.



The man says "Finally the Archdemon has revealed himself, it is time for you to die and end the darkspawn taint forever!"



Shep turns to his teammates and notices suddenly that they've all become various darkspawn, Miranda, SuZe and Jacob are Hurlocks, Garrus, Thane and Legion are Genlocks, Mordin, Samara and Tali are Shrieks and Grunt is an Ogre.



Duncan's great, great, great, great, great grandson charges at the group with several other Wardens as the instrumental of Leliana's Song plays and just as the Wardens are about to kill Shep the screen fades to black.

The Council Fleet shows up and arrests you as a terrorist for attacking an Alien Species without their consent. The trial goes on for months, in the end you aren't convicted, but your name is ruined and your thrown out of both the Alliance Military and the Spectres. The last shot is you drowning your sorrows in a dive bar on some dustball backwater colony, the first Human Spectre ends his career as a dirt farmer... for now.

I've been waiting for someone to make a Doctor Who reference since this thread was started back on the old forums.



If we're going to consider ninja'd endings "bad", then I'd going to have to go with the amped up Sword of Damocles ending:




Shepard (holding a small control unit): "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

Reaper Boss: "So what are you going to do?"

Shepard: "Disappear."
Shepard types the numbers 6 6 6 into the control unit.

Illusive Man: "He's input in the universe code. No target code. Sir, that will shut down the entire universe!"

Shepard: "I told you, you better hope I didn't make it back."

Illusive Man: "You push that button, everything we've accomplished for the last 500 thousand million katrillion years will be finished. Our technology, our way of life, our entire history. We'll have to start all over again. For god sakes don't do it Shepard!"

Shepard: "The names Plisken."
Shepard pushes the button.

(Cut to universe view) EMP's erupt from each of the relays, eventually reaching every part of the universe.
(Cut to Earth) Everything goes black.

Liara, SuZe, Wrex: "He did it, he shut down the universe."


Postcredits:

Shepard finds a pack of American Spirit behind a rock, takes out a cigarette and lights it with a match.
Shepard looks into the camera, then blows out the match. Screen fades to black.

after the final battle we see Normandy chef for the 1st time and it turns out he's in the future and this whole game was really a hologram he was studying, thats also explains why there is a flim grin effect.

Terminus Systems in 2185 CE is desolate, wide-open galaxy, and Pallin laments the increasing violence in a region where he, like his father before him, has risen to the office of executor. Commander Shepard, hunting space cows, comes across the aftermath of a red sand deal gone awry: a collection of corpses, a wounded Asari begging for water, and two million credits in a satchel that he takes to his spaceship. He later returns with water for the dying woman, but he is chased away by a pair in a rover and loses his vehicle. When he gets back on the spaceship he grabs the credits, sends his wife Ashley to her mother's, and makes his way to a motel in the next system, where he hides the satchel in the air vent of his room.



Hitman Zaeed Messani has been hired to recover the money. He has already strangled a executor's deputy to escape custody and stolen a ship by using a captive biotic amp to kill the pilot. Now he carries a transponder that traces the credits via a tracking device concealed inside the satchel to Shepard's location. Bursting into the Normandy at night, Messani surprises a group of Turians set to ambush Shepard and murders them all. Shepard, however, one step ahead, has rented the connecting room on the other side, so by the time Messani removes the vent cover with a omni-tool to grab the credits, it is already back on the road with Shepard.



Tracking the satchel to a border galaxy station, Messani's pursuit climaxes in a firefight with Shepard that spills onto the wards, leaving both men badly wounded. Messani flees across the border, collapsing from his injuries and waking up in a Turian hospital. There Urdnot Wrex, another hired operative, offers to save Shepard's life in return for the money.



After Messani cleans and stitches his own leg wounds with stolen supplies, he gets the drop on Wrex back at his hotel and kills him just as Shepard calls the room. Picking up the phone and carefully avoiding the blood on the floor, Messani offers to spare Ashley for the money. Shepard is defiant.



Shepard arranges to rendezvous with his wife at a club on the Citadel to give her the money and send her out of harm's way. Pallin arrives at the club just in time to see a pickup carrying Galactic-speaking passengers hastily leaving the scene. He finds Shepard dead and is the first to meet Ashley when she arrives. That night, Pallin returns to Shepard's motel room to find the door lock blown out, evidently from the captive biotic amp. Messani hides behind the door of a motel room, observing the shifting light through an empty lock hole. His gun drawn, Bell enters Moss's room and notices that the vent cover has been removed with a dime and the vent is empty.



Pallin visits his Uncle Vakarian, an ex-lawman. Pallin plans to retire because he feels "overmatched," but Vakarian points out that the region has always been violent. For Vakarian, thinking it is "all waiting on you, that's vanity."



Ashley returns from her mother's funeral to find Messani lying in wait. He recalls the pledge he made to her husband that could have spared her, then offers her a coin toss for her life. She will not play, instead reminding him that the choice is his alone. Leaving the house by himself, Messani carefully checks the soles of his boots. As he drives away, Messani is injured in a rover accident; his left arm is badly broken. He manages to leave the scene before C-sec arrive.



Now retired, Pallin shares two dreams with his wife, both involving his deceased father. In the first dream he lost "some credits" that his father had given him; in the second dream, he and his father were riding nathak through a snowy mountain pass. His father, who was carrying fire in a horn, quietly passed by Pallin with his head down and was "going on ahead, and fixin' to make a fire" in the surrounding dark and cold. When Pallin got there, he knew his father would be waiting. Then he woke up.

It turns out Shepard was indocrinated by the Reapers early on, and he turns on the galaxy and helps bring the Reapers back. Then we get no Mass Effect 3.

Commander Shepard has finally done it. He has thwarted the Reaper threat and the Collectors are no more.



Shepard steps into his private quarters in the Normandy, longing for rest and relaxation. Exhaustion gnaws at him, and he is ready for a long and well needed sleep. When the doors to his quarters slide open, an astonishing sight is revealed. A turian stands in the center of the room, pistol in hand.



"N-Nihlus?"



The turian nods, and he raises his pistol. Shepard's eyes widen as a shot rips through his stomach, sending him to his knees. The turian strides forward, his pistol still held firmly in hand.



"Shepard, did you honestly believe that you had finished the fight? The Reapers may be no more, and the Collectors may have been vanquished. Yet, you failed to realize the true threat...Me."



Shepard coughed, blood spluttering out his mouth. "What do you mean? You..you died!"



"You really aren't the best at observation. That shot that Saren pounded into me was a simple tranquilizer. My goal was to kill you on Eden Prime; Anderson would have thought you perished from the Geth. But no, Saren had to intervene!"



Shepard looked up at the turian. "What are you planning!?"



"I plan to march across the galaxy, leading my army."



"Your army?"



Nihlus laughed. "Yes, my army of Hanar."



Shepard felt his spine tingle.



The Hanar?



Nihlus smiled and kicked Shepard in the stomach, sending him stumbling into darkness and death.

 Shepard and his crew crash in a planet where intelligent talking apes are the dominant species, and humans are the oppressed and enslaved...

Udina gains control over the council and reveals himself as the ruler of all the Reapers through a virus called Reaper-Net taking over all the other machinery and summoning the Reapers from Dark Space.

Thus an eon of slavery and indoctrination begins.



In Mass Effect 3 we are Shepard who has once again been reconstructed as a full robot this time and we are sent back into time to stop Udina and Reaper-Net from gaining control over the universe.

after the final battle shepard sits down and says "wow i cant believe after all of this mass effect 3 will only go to ps3 and not for the 360 or pc" as a little piece inside me dies alittle lol

Looking around in confusion, he starts complaining to the programmers about their shoddy work, and how he was forced to have a romance with Cthulhu girl. As they begin to apologize for the delay and ask him to wait for the patch, he demands them spawn him some weaponry. Grabbing a katana, he decapitates the final boss, and rules the Collectors as their new King.

Later on as you hear the credits roll... you hear the laughter of Evil Chris, mocking you for cheating on your love interest, despite you only accidentally romancing them.

Conker reference... how I dream of the day a sequel comes out.


Ending
After defeating the collectors a giant red black hole appears out comes a giant pig and he says studderingly  "Da da da da da dats all folks"
