Shepard kills the Collector leader. But before the leader dies he presses a button on his wrist. and says "You may have killed me Shepard but Dont think you are going to make it off this ship alive."



The ship starts breaking apart, explosions everywhere. Finally the screen backs out of the collectors ship and it explodes. The camera continues to drift and eventually a ship drifts into sight.



Inside it shows Shepard and the rest of the squad standing in the middle of a room surrounded by soldiers. Shepard asks what is going on un-holstering his weapon. Woman:It looks like saving your life."



Camera turns to show Major Samantha Carter, Doctor Daniel Jackson Teal'c and General Jack O'Neil. The gate opens and they all step thru it. CUT TO BLACK.

They crash land on the Collector's home ship, fight through hordes of zombies, escape just as it starts to explode after a rousing Hammerhead chase sequence to the Normandy - which has been brought there by Captain Anderson (who died heroically sacrificing himself against a Reaper construct). They fly through the open cargo bay doors after a perfect Holywood automobile leap of faith, start up the ship, and then crash land (for a second time) on a mysterious planet in the Normandy.

Shepard tells EDI to "wake me when you need me", and falls asleep in one of the cryo pods.

Well, from what I've seen and heard, I'll take a wild guess...



From what I've seen of the new novel, it seems Shepard is also likely implanted with Reaper technology, probably what brought him back from the dead. There will probably be a revelation near the end of ME2 concerning that. And the finale looks like it will be opening the Omega 4 relay, probably to take the fight to the Collectors/Reapers (in ME3).

Shepard is surveying the carnage left over by the final battle when Captain Anderson strolls up.



"What happened here?"



"I ended it. I ended it all and lost so much in the process." He droops his head but not before weakly nudging his head towards what was left of his squad. No his friends. "The bastard that started all of this is over there."



Anderson slowly followed Shepards gaze to a large humanoid alien. It lay there, its chitinous armor showing severe damage in several areas and its arms bent at odd angles. "So this is the Collector's leader I presume?"



Shepard nodded, closing his eyes.



"Well then," Anderson quickly drew a pair of shades from breast pocket, "it looks like this collection is complete."
