I've been a casual writer over at ff.net on and off for several years, but have never really ventured past the wrestling portion of the site. Lately I've found myself yet again in a bit of a creative burn out on that side of the fence (AU stories included) and figure there's no time like the present to attempt something in the ME-verse, which is something I've wanted to do for a while.
The thing is I'd like to put dates on certain events through the story, mainly to help myself in keeping it in a somewhat ordered timeline, but can't find any examples of anything that resembles a galactic date format other than what year events happened. Surely Council space would have some sort of universal equivelant to the day/month/year set up, instead of having to deal with the countless formats all the species would use in their home planets/systems.
I know in the grand scheme of things it might sound a little trivial, but sometimes I just can't help but get a tad OCD over the small things sometimes. I've done more than a couple of searches to try and find what I'm looking for, but the only thing that comes even remotely close is the event timeline on the ME wiki. Any ideas on this would be very much greatly appreciated.
Galactic Date Format. How would it work?

There's the galactic standard for all units up to one day. Beyond that, and there is nothing, sadly.
Assume the translator have a date translation function for written text. That might solve some of your issues. Maybe even in speech, since it's a really powerful device, being able to guess context of the spoken word ahead of time and all.

you could take the current angle of the galaxy, as it rotates you have a recurring event with fixed timelength between, lets say its a galactic year, now break it down until you have timeunits close to ours... just my 2 cents

Thanks for the input! I have a tendency to occasionally over think things and miss the obvious solution, so the translator never occurred to me >_>
I should stop procrastinating and actually write something now... or at least attempt to.
