And yeah, it is a big deal for me.  I've never been able to clutch a Gold wave before.  It was wave 7 on Jade against Collectors and I was using my Huntress instead of one of the kits I'm used to playing.  When I finished off a Praetorian, I suspected that I was now alone, and heard over the headset "It's up to you now, Dave"

But I didn't panic for once, and finished off the captains and possessed scions left in the wave.  I didn't even use a rocket.

My highest gold score ever, 99999 (not kidding on the score).

Hey, great job man! Clutching a gold wave isn't easy if you're not experienced with the game. You're definitely making steps, and I'm sure it's satisfactory, isn't it? :)

Yeah, that was a very satisfactory feeling.  It's great to feel like the hero instead of the zero for once :D

Congratulations.

I'm like >400hrs in and still can't reliably clutch a late Gold wave, lol.

Well done!

Huntress is a good kit for clutching as long as you keep your head down and take your time.

Yeah, for a good part of the wave I was just putting dark channel on things, and working to the other side of the map to reset.  I think half of the enemies died while I was running away.

Hehe yes well, it wasn't that long ago you were talking about how Silver was quite difficult for you to do without equipment, and now here you are saving the day for your team on Gold. I'm not being sarcastic when I quote my Drell Adept; CLEAN WORK!

Also, kudos for using my favorite gold class.

It's a good kit.  I haven't played it since before I started this exursion up to Gold, so I had to rebuild last night (I had promoted my Infiltrators twice since the last time I used her).  Previously, I had been trying her with a melee build, but this time I set her up as a proper Infiltrator and was applying everything I had learned regarding playing my GI.  I also didn't mess around and took my Hurricane.

I was amazed how effective she is to play, and how quickly I picked it up.  This was my 2nd gold game with her since the rebuild.

In case anyone is interested, this is the build I used:

http://narida.pytalh...ExpertPackage5/

I see I don't want to use her against Geth, she works well against barriers, not so great against shields.

Yes. I particularly enjoy how incredible dark channel becomes while under the influence of TC, the power amp on my pistol, and commando package gear. It's like that song about how cool guys don't look at explosions except cool Huntresses don't look at Banshees as they melt.

I did my Plat Solo pretty much using TC-DC and kiting.

Didn't even get a 75 weapon kills medal haha.

Nice job. There's really not much to it...Kill,kite,watch flanks then kill some more.

Same here. Some days, I can keep a lid on my panicking and I'll clutch the wave. But if there's more than two boss-type mobs with a handful of semi-bosses, you can bet that I'm more likely to do something stupid like throw myself onto a grenade.

Well done, Dave! One of these days, I'm gonna have to ask you for advice on achieving wave-clutching zen.

I'd been planning to do my solos using a Kroguard against Geth, but now I'm rethinking it.  I often solo games to try out new kits or weapons, but the objectives always trip me up.

I think I need 2 more Silver, plus the 2 Gold and a Platinum (said like it is totally not a big deal).

I did 4 Golds and a Platinum. 2xHuntress versus Reapers (Giant, Reactor Hazard), 2xGeth Soldier versus Cerb (White) and Collectors (Hydra).

Objective waves can be fairly straightforward but you have to know how to kite, and not let yourself get impatient about it.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be there soon.

I accidently found an easy mode for Gold solo when I was just starting to play Gold and hadn't been posting here for very long. I went to start a Gold match thinking others would join, and nobody ever did, so I solo'd hazard Giant as the Juggy. At first it was a huge deal to me, but I tried it again (so I could finish off the solo challenge) and didn't use any consumables until wave 10.

Basically, play a Juggy, set it to Reapers, set it to Gold on Giant or hazard Giant (I prefer hazard because it's easier on the eyes), take a semi-strong ranged weapon and a strong CQC weapon and slowly lumber around the map while picking things off until the wave budget runs out, then kill the Banshees. On objective waves, kite enemies to the opposite side of the objectives as needed. Granted, it takes forever (took me 58 minutes with no spawn nuking), but it's insanely easy.

My first Gold Solo was Kroguard/Reegar but it was too easy and I felt bad and dirty.  Second was Huntress and went just as easy but felt more of an accomplishment.

Very similar build to how I use mine.  I take recharge speed for 5 in DC and do 4/4 for Passives and Fitness but I use her in Platinum as well.  CSMG for me but I cheated for the solo *cough Harrier*
