I own a pair of the Turtle Beach X12s, which I've got plugged into my TV so I can listen to literally everything from TV shows to my N64, as well as my 360 and PS3. Lately, though, I've been wondering if there are sets with better quality sound and provide the same level of flexibility my X12s have. I've been very satisfied, I'm just wondering if there are any better ones out there to get an idea since I don't have the money to blow on something I may not like better (I do have the money to buy the item, just not enough to take the risk if that makes sense).

Any thoughts?

I don't use headsets. I prefer having a good pair of headphones and just attach a separate microphone to it.

Right now I'm using a pair of HiFiMan HE-400 and a cheap Zalman microphone attached to the headphone cord. It might not the cheapest or the most practical solution, but it's what I prefer.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you'll need a USB audio adapter if you want to use regular microphones on your PS3.
