Too much gore?

I've made a hak with placeables that override the Bioware placeables from the OC (no expansions yet).
The corpse placeables looked like they were from minecraft or built with lego, so they didn't really
look 'scary' at all. I've made some really skinny impaled corpses that look starved and other corpses that
look like animals have started to devour them.
Now I'm wondering if that is too much gore. What do you think?

P.S. I've read the rules of conduct and it states that posting pictures with adult content is not allowed, but 'adult content' is a weasel word (or two). If anybody thinks this picture is not appropriate I'll remove it immediately.

I like it! your approach is just perfect for my taste. I never use gore placeables that much but if I create a place for it it gives the player a signal of danger/ or how he could end up too not by accident...

Bio´s corpse was, yes minecraft or pinnichio is a good example :D

I agree.
I'm not squeamish about your gore.
In fact the detail, when used sparingly, it adds to the "dread" ambience..
Bring on the gritty, scary realisms ...

Too much gore? You jest. Speaking as someone who is familiar with blood and placeables and who has just downloaded Ryuujin's Hyper Gore Revised, I have to say give me more gore. I want entrails, a face half peeled away revealing the skull underneath, a corpse with a shark bite taken out of it, etc. you dig?

Nice work Zwerkules BTW (^_^)

come on guys lets be serious adults here... we all know that a seriously deprived ridiculously malnourished impaled body would look amazing! across a battlefield!

i say the grittier the better, maybe even go so far as to have one with entrails hangin out? just kinda puttin that out there...

Ditto. You can never get too much gore. Besides, overhauls of anything dated is most welcome!

Isn't "Too much gore" an oxymoron? Bwa ha ha!
Especially in a game that features wandering round whacking things wiv a gert sword so much. Looks great by the way.

Added later: we want  a Maggots placeable that fits on copses...

Agree with Baba and Killmonger. When used very sparingly, you get maximum effect, and can create a powerful sense of foreboding and dread. If it's used too much, the impact is negated, and it just becomes part of the scenery -- something Hollywood often forgets. The "too much gore" comes from how it's used, not how graphically detailed it is. Nice work Zwerkules.

Too much gore? Not enough Ghor!

More seriously I don't think anyone in the community now is likely to be squeamish (I'm certainly not). It can be overdone but thats more in placeable placement than a reason not to provide the placeables. Although I think there is a serious lack of content for rotting corpses that have been left awhile: bright red blood stains only really work for very fresh corpses.

Also better flies.

And smell!  I want smell!  Get a big pork roast and some calves liver and stick it in a gabage can and leave it outside to rippen for a few days in the summer.  Make sure you leave a small opening for flies!  Smell-o-vision!  Oh yeah...  ;)

Options are always good. It's up to the builder to decide which and how many placeables to use. Speaking as a builder, when I want to place a corpse (fresh or otherwise), I want it to look like a corpse and not a PG version of it. Likewise I don't want every corpse to be for the Fangoria fans. Being able to pick from a variety of mayhem and decomposition would be utterly fantastic.

I'd sooner have the freshly roasted smell to be honest. Maybe not so much on corpses, mixed feelings there.

I can see one problem. With corpses this good, we'll be disappointed if you don't re-skin some zombies (^_^).

I'd like to point out one fact: many authors/builders use default corpse placeable as "sleeping" man with Zzzs coming out.

@Tarot: what's wrong with the reskins we already have on the vault?

@werelynx nothing at all. Why would you imply criticism? Good quality undead are always welcome.

With the emaciation of some them, I could see some surprising mummified shambling undead. To be mummified a corpse does not need to be swathed in bandages, that's just the later ancient Egyptian style. Early mummification occurred simply by burying corpses in desert sand and letting nature remove the fluids.

It was a tragic accident-- he fell on a knife five times.
