Imo, that's a risky move on BW's part. *Really* risky.

Mac is a good writer.

He just didn't reach his own level with the ending, imo.

Yeah, he's such a "good" writer that he writes death itself being cured with nobody giving a damn and humans being turned into liquid goo to form contra 3 boss because of non-existant 'genetic diversity".

Which is why he should stick to Characters & small stories instead the whole plot to a game

Neither of which are his strongpoints either.  This is the same guy who uses genetic engineering as some bit point for some lame daddy issue plot for Miranda and the focus on "characters and small stories" is precisely what lead to the mess in ME3(they had nothing to do with anything).

Stop people.

It's a good thing, Walters knows very well the Mass Effect universe, so yeah he ****ed up the ending of ME3 but he did a lot of good things too (he has written Garrus and Cerberus etc).

So it isn't a bad idea, no Mass Effect 4 is in good hands.

. Because Cerberus has been written so very consistently and well......

In ME2 yes it was...

BTW you will all buy ME4 (a lot of people with a very big mouth here, you re just talking), so you should all shut up. Mac ****ed up the ending ok but he did a lot of great things so give the guy a chance. Even the comics are great.

No it was not. Cerberus was not consistant in any of the games and Drew already stated he did retcon Cerberus for ME2 because he wanted them to play a bigger part. This was not planned at all and he comfirmed it.

Cerberus was written very well IMO in ME2. However, it was inconsistent. With ME3 at least. They were a rather small and faceless presence in ME1, so it's really not too hard to write them into whatever you want to from there. That said, Cerberus was something that was originally just a narrative mechanic in ME1, a side-plot. They were never planned or written out - like a lot of things in the trilogy - and certainly not expected to be the main power in ME2.

Their characterization is inconsistent. As to how they relate to the plot, it was written very well in ME1 and ME2 (as I said, in ME1 they were written to be exactly as they were, a side-quest), and in ME3 the writing was bad for them. ME2 is the oddball as far as characterization goes.

Oh yeah ? So explain yourself, I m curious to hear where they were not consistant because TIM, Shepard's relation with Cerberus, Miranda and Cerberus overall in ME2 were very well made.
