So, as it turns out, in trying to: "save Qara from joining the king of shadows", it seems Sand was lost instead.
Because, as it turns out.. You cannot save both.. You will "save" the one who you have highest influence with..
Stupid game design if you ask me..

This time around (playing the OC) I really tried to get high influence with Qara to "save her from the king of shadows", but I wouldnt have done if it I knew I would lose Sand istead...

So... I was hoping some of you could show me how to open the scripts in the game and change Qaras influence to 3 or something so that I get Sand instead. I opened the globals files in one of my saves. It says Ive got 5 influence with Qara and 3 with Sand, although Im sure it must be bugged because I was certain that I had 6 or something influence with Sand. If I changed Qaras influence to equal Sands then that would fix this problem.

So.. kevL? I_Raps ? Tchos? people who have helped me before.. Or anyone else?

*Edit* I have tried debug mode before and it doesnt seem to work. Besides, using scripts is more fun.

I haven't tried this, but looking at the script, you can execute this from debug mode:

rs ga_influence(4, -100)

4 = Qara

That should change her influence by -100.

Yes but debug mode doesnt seem to work for me. Your supposed to type DebugMode1 to enter debug mode right? But nothing happens. Isnt there some way to enter the script out of the game(through the files) and change it? Kind of like what was done in the thread I posted the other day? : http://social.biowar.../index/16579251

Thanks for replying.

You type:

debugmode 1

There needs to be a space. And capitalisation is not necessary in this case.

If it works.. Is only the save I am on at the moment affected? Or does this carry effect across all the saves?

Well, I tried it, and it didnt work. Your supposed to type this stuff in the window in the lower left corner right?

Where damage numbers and kills appear?

When I type debugmode 1 and the influence stuff, it just floats over the head of my character like its something he said...

Am I doing something wrong? Or is there some other way of doing this?

you need to type this: ##debugmode 1 if you're not starting the dev console.

Ok, thanks. If I need to, how do I open the dev console?

My instructions were for doing it through the console, not the chat window, which is what you were doing. Semper's instructions are for doing it through the chat window.

Opening the console is via the ` key (backtick).

Yeah I know, I just havent been using this sort of stuff before. To exit debug mode I just type: ##debugmode 0 right?

And to close the dev console I just press ` again right?

AFTER doing debugmode 0

Playing the game in debug mode is not good.
