Should I inform my PUGs not to camp the extraction or do I let the chaos insue.

I constantly see teams that make it through waves 1-10 with very few hiccups, then as soon as they hear "get to the landing zone", they lose their mind and proceed to the slaughter.

It is even better when you get in those games where people avoid the hack objective, because it is overwhelming, but refuse to leave the LZ.

The problem is that on bronze it's too easy to defend the l z . On silver it can be difficult when bosses start piling up but I think too many players are skipping to gold and then not realising that defending l z is a nightmare .

Probably true, but how can there still be so many people that are still that oblivious? The LZ is basically a hack objective you can complete in the last 10 to 20 seconds, what possible strategic reason is there for spending the whole 2 minutes there?

If there was a glitch that allowed the hack objective to be competed by only spending the last 10 to 20 seconds in it, people would have it down to a science in no time. This is every wave 11, and people just can't get it...lol.

Whether I say something or not depends on the map. Giant/Dagger/Glacier can be held quite effectively on Gold if your team coordinates. Other maps with little cover in the LZ, like Hydra, usually end in wasted medigel, rockets and tears. But to be honest, on Gold and above, most players I encounter tend to know what they're doing when it comes to extraction strategies on the various maps, and it usually goes smoothly without anyone having to call out instructions or threaten bodily harm.

This seems to happen for me on Giant all the time. I will be waiting down past the control room by the ammo box. The rest of the PUG is trying to hold the LZ, despite my warnings. 30 seconds to go I will head toward the ladder, climb up and slip into the LZ circle in the back way, using that little blind corner that is in the LZ but can't see the rest of the LZ.

More often than not, I'm a Lone Survivor.

It's always puzzling too, they are usually much better players than I am and will have double my score (or more), but this one thing seems to elude them.

Giant is one of the only exceptions to the rule. The LZ is fairly easy to hold, if you're good.

This, and it's a big IF given pugs.

Don't tell them not to camp the extraction. Otherwise they will get away from the LZ and bring all the enemies with them to your hiding spot.

I just quietly hide in a dark corner far away from the LZ and just quietly watch as skulls appear on my screen.

Its not because I am trolling or I am evil. It is because in extraction wave its every man for himself. If the enemies are busy butchering my team members at the LZ, they are not coming after me.

I used to warn them, but they either ignore me or cuss me out. So leave them and see who lives.

Banshees and Praetorians tend to screw things up... But against Cerberus and Geth at least, I'd say a fair few LZ areas can be held in addition to Giant. Maybe even most of them.

Glacier can be held, with two on the door nearest to the LZ and two on the other side around the entrance to the control room.

Dagger darkside can be held, of course. I mean, teams usually hold that sniper nest the entire game, so...

Reactor... you need someone near the LZ itself watching the right passage, someone in said passage in the little side tunnel thing, and two near the reactor door. It can be done.

White can be held with two near the ladder, and two covering the nearby control room from the doorway of the rearmost stairwell.

Condor can be held with two on the hill covering that horrible low corner deathtrap area and two on the high ground near the LZ itself.

I've never seen a group bother to do it, but I figure Rio and London LZ areas can be held.

All of the LZ areas can be held, but it depends on how loose your definition of "held" is.  White can be held, but none of the players will be positioned at the LZ if you're doing it right.  London is not too bad, because it's easy to keep all the enemies in front of you and not get flanked.  Rio is also not too bad, although enemies tend to spawn right at the LZ, so unless you have somebody in position before W11, you'll have to clear it out first.

I think Reactor is really tough to hold.  You have to spread your team out pretty far to do it, and enemies on that map tend to spawn right on top of you, especially when you're down on the lower level by the reactor.

I learned pretty quick to stop camping LZ after a while... though my friends still think that they must stay there. it was brutal for one gold match when I lost my mind with them and camped LZ, It was by far a really funny but terrible experience of pain, torture, and deaths... many many deaths.

Indeed, pretty funny how quick things can go south. And just stroll into the LZ with a few seconds to spare after they punch themselves out!:D
