because without magic group one would still be trying to enslave group two
without magic group one would still be trying to make group two worship and have absolute obedience to group one's divine right.
Who's group one and group two here?
group two could be poor people, elves, anyone who looks / behaves / believes different, dwarves without a caste

Then should it not stand to reason that non-mages have this right?
If so - I agree. Crushing the mages is the only sensible self-defense.
Time and time again - the mages of Thedas have proven only to be the worst forms of people - and magic has proven only to cause suffering.
They're like an entire biological "race" of Kim Jong Uns.
As I am exclusively a mage player - I hope there are some interesting dialogue options for my Mage Inquisitor - I truly look forward to being called a "traitor" by fundamentalist rebels to stupid to listen to anything but the sound of their own rhetoric (though I do not believe that DA 3 is going to be about the Mage/Templar war - so there's that).

I would prefer the exact opposite honestly, I would love to see how everyone would react to suddenly becoming a mage.
Ehh... I don't see an option like that happening. Even though there are a lot of mage supporters here, there are some that aren't. Besides, forcing you to change your class because of the story would not be a good thing. Having a choice to rid magic is a tough choice because it effects the lore and the atmosphere of the series. Forcing you to turn into a mage takes away choice, and takes away your character's... well character.
If you meant having the choice to become one, I wouldn't see the point either. You have a choice (I'm assuming) to pick your class at the beginning, and if you wanted to be a mage, then you'd be one at the start.

I know it would never happen, I'm just curious as to see how the Qunari would react to it.

That actually sounds like a better idea, I would totally make everyone into a mage.

Well you're a mage making a choice to end magic? What did you expect? I would think everyone that is a mage in the game, would decide to keep magic. I don't know how people would be blown away by surprise when they decided that magic should no longer exist. So with all that being said, yes they would have to change classes. But they took away their class by ending their own power.

Magic is so important.
If humans try to destroy Magic, then they will wake up a strong Nature's revenge.
Humans need to be destroyed, mainly those who use magic to evil and corrupt the Nature powers.
A Magic Union will emerge. Beware!

Mages like Bethany and Malcolm Hawke and Irving and Wynne and the Mage Warden would beg to differ. Some/many mages are the worst forms of people, but not all of them by any means.
It is blatantly untrue that magic has proved to ONLY cause suffering. Magic is used to create Grey Wardens during the Joining, magic is a viable defense against Qunari expansion, and healing magic constitutes an entire class of magical ability.

It will be Morrigan's child's idea. He'd be about 10 right now.
And they will call it Synthesis.

I say we make everyone a Mage by building up a huge tower the size of which has never been seen before with a vate of lyrium at the top.
This is starting to sound a bit like the plot for the first X-Men.
