That creepy picture does not help your argument or your cause.

Or ... does it?

That picture is not creepy at all. It just has idea.

You afraid the darkness only because you can't see through it.

Observe, learn, and you will see the things differently. The picture is beautiful.

but how well? 2 million copies? 1.5m copies? We'll see

Yep. Either way works for me, since if the series can't survive without Shepard then I want it to die.

When a Reaper thinks something's creepy, you know it's the epitome of the word.

It is pitch black.  You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Shepard & Company make Mass Effect for me. I have almost zero interest in the future of this franchise now that we won't be seeing them in the next installments.

I love Shepard. Shepard is my favorite character in Mass Effect, and that's saying a lot because I'm fond of most of the character cast.

But Shepard's story is over. Shepard's story was inextricably linked to the story of the Reapers. If Shepard lives, dies--her story has still come to its end because the Reapers are defeated. The trilogy focuses on Shep, but it's not all Shep.

I am incredibly skeptical of whatever this next piece of the puzzle will be. I'm not sure I will like it. But BW gave me Shepard. They gave me Garrus, Liara, Tali, Miranda, and all the rest. They gave me their story. It wasn't perfect. They made mistakes.

But I do believe that they can still tell good stories. I believe they can make new characters that I'll enjoy. When Mass Effect 2 happened, they did just that. I loved it. I don't regret it. And do I believe there are more worthy characters and tales in the MEU? Yes, I do.

So, yes, it won't be Shepard. I'll miss Shepard. But I look forward to seeing who these new people will be and the adventures we'll take together.

lolwut? Witcher players can choose various sentiments and views for their Geralt unlike that brick Shepard whose sole motivation is "rah rah smash reapaz". There's even a quest spanning most of TW1 that's dedicated to it called "identity".

This is a joke, right? TW1 has even fewer dialogue choices than ME3, and more autodiaolgue. (Don't know about TW2, since this vidcard would explode if I booted that up.)

From my experience, it's about the same. Of course, large portions of the real dialogue are too similar in tone for my taste. Geralt is a very predefined character in terms of his personality, though you can define his background and his beliefs more than Shepard. The options you are presented do little for immersion, though.

Well, my Shepard lived. But with no more Shepard & crew to look forward too I'm not sure ME4 is for me.

I can tell for sure that if new ME game will be another Shepard's story, then I will not buy that game. Enough is enough. Devs should know when to stop, to avoid converting good story into another Santa Barbara.

And it looks like BioWare knows when to stop. They officially stated that new ME game will not be Shepard's story... And there will be no "ME4".

I will miss Shepard and the cast equally. They're all irreplaceable.

Shepard and his crew are what made Mass Effect what it is. Without them, it will never be the same again.

My Shepard lives, along with most of his crew. They have the ending I gave them and wrote for them myself.

I believe his story isn't finished so I'll continue it in fanfiction.

Without Shepard and company, there's nothing about ME4 that interests me.

To call the next game Mass Effect 4 or ME4 is doing it a disservice and seems to cause a lot of confusion here. We have already said that the Commander Shepard trilogy is over and that the next game will not feature him/her. That is the only detail you have on the game. I see people saying "well, they'll have to pick a canon ending". No, because the game does not have to come after. Or before. Or off to the side. Or with characters you know. Or yaddayaddayadda. Wherever, whenever, whoever, etc will all be revealed years down the road when we actually start talking about it.

I do not call the game ME4 when I talk about it ever, bucause that makes people think of it more as "what happens after Mass Effect 3" rather than "what game happens next set in the Mass Effect Universe", which is far more accurate at this point. Obviously fans are going to speculate content, character and story until we actually reveal details in the years or months to come as you have almost no actual details, just don't get bogged down in "well how are they going to continue ME3...".

Before we start to make sweeping generalizations...

Why don't we all just wait for the next game to come out?

yep me to but many would say that it's not cannon not what the team intended others say it's to happy and that it dosn't fit (cos star brat fit in way better?) so as a result it dosn't count as a propper ending. I say have your bleak dreary ending that still dose not fit I'll just stick with MEHEM.
