I heard that the scene take place 10,000 years after ME3.Is this true?

In Synthesis and Control, why aren't there any Reapers standing around?

Why isn't there ANY green in that scene in the Synthesis ending?

Why aren't they killed by synthetics in Destroy?

They appear to be as advanced as modern day humanity (not being able to travel to the stars) and still know about the Reaper War and Shepard?

I honestly don't understand the scene either. It made me think that the relays were destroyed initially, but then BioWare said they weren't so... I have no idea.

But demanding that there be Reapers standing around in order for it to make sense with Control/Synthesis or that the Stargazer should be killed by synthetics because you picked Destroy doesn't make any sense either.

Also, God bless Buzz Aldrin, but his voice acting is terrible.

I think in part it is supposed to reflect the real life(today) message, that one day we will go to the stars.

I dislike intensely the 'the shephard' messianic insinuations coupled with the logical leap from the original endings that it is the hillybilly descendents of a galactic dark age talking.

Yeah I don't understand that scene at all. I can only assume that it was like a hey see everything is fine in the end. But yeah it is very odd. That scene and the "BUY DLC" of the original endings didn't help the rage plus Buzz just sounds so creepy! He needs to stick to singing with Snoop.

It makes no f*cking sense... thankfully there's a much better stargazer scene.

Eh, that was just FUD the Starkid was spewing anyway. No way it could predict any of this with 100% certainty :P

The most terrifying and destructive thing about that scene is:

If you complete the game it will ALWAYS be there and ALWAYS be the same. As if nothing you ever did in all 3 games mattered.

Or was it all just a story and not real to begin with...

I strongly dislike the stargazer scene. It's nothing but a hallucination that my heavily wounded Shepard sees post-destroy in my headcanon.

I once said I hated it on here once, and some jerkass got upset because he thought I was disrespecting Buzz Aldrin. It was funnier than hell.

The Reapers are a myth at that point as are likely most of the other races, seeming to suggest no matter what you do life goes on. Think of it as confirmation of your choices lacking impact in the grand scheme of things, because whatever horrific choice you made in the end everything turns out alright anyways.

I don't think anyone does.

Except for Seival the Oracle.

It's just an old man and his grandkid telling stories on some world, what's the problem? It fits with any of the endings. Anything else you project on the scene like a galactic dark age or whatever is just headcanon.

Well it proves once and for all that the Catalyst is full of it. It proves that organics aren't doomed to synthetics.

Yup, society rebuilds with whatever war crime your Shepard commited as its foundation.

So be happy!Image IPB

Why so serious?

It's just a feel good scene, nothing more and nothing less.

It breaks the fourth wall. Emphasizes the "epic" feel of the game.

If it serves any functional purpose, it's to link all of your ME playthroughs--"one more story"--which isn't a necessary thing at all.

But geesh. Why nitpick it to death? It's clearly not meant to be overanalyzed. Why not just enjoy it for what it is?

Yep, and the story is apparently worthy of being told to a child, so I bet "war crime" doesn't even come up.

They gotta keep it PG and PG-13 for the children, plus 'The Shepard"

"Alright one more story. There was this one time when The Shepard and his disciples shot up a sushi bar, fought with The Other Shepard, and got wasted afterwards while the war raged on."
