I've been working on a PW module.  Been testing it with my own system and experiencing no difficulties.  Today, I installed the game on my daughter's system and patched it up to the final version, so that she could do some playing/testing while I was asleep.

On her system, after choosing a character and hitting Start Game, it begins to load then pops an in-game error window that says "Could not load the module.  There was an error while loading the module" and there's an OK button.

I have no custom content, and the versions are the same.  I can't figure out why it's doing this.  It'll load into the OC just fine, just won't let her log in to my PW.  So it's not a hardware/graphics issue.

The only issue we had while installing on her system was that the auto-updater wouldn't work, so we had to manually patch.  But I'm fairly certain we did it right.  Any suggestions?

It's via LAN and my copy of the game is the Platinum DVD version. Still perplexed over this one, gonna try reinstalling on her system and see if maybe we missed something. But the game version listed seems to be right.

don't forget you can, theoretically, copy your installation folders over to her machine ( then deal with nwncdkey.ini ) after the registry entries are in place.

ps There's a great thread about manual installations by Banshe, if you haven't seen it.

Other than that I don't know what's involved for syncing up clients & server, but Are you sure she has all the necessary files: .2da's, .haks, any \\Override & \\Campaign files

I have no custom content yet, so that shouldn't be the issue. I tried checking the box on the server that forces clients to download and sync...and it made me get the error on *my* system too (and she still does as well). So I unchecked it... How does that work?

well, I wouldn't say you have no custom content yet; i know what you mean, but technically it's not true.

Maybe try setting up the OC Campaign on your server, first, and figure how to connect there. The only thing i personally know about setting up a server is that when I did it in NwN it worked, and when I did it in NwN2 ... it didn't. ( so i work on spellscripts instead ) What I do know is that NwN2 has a ADL ( auto-downloader ) built-in

nwn2.wikia: Starting a PW ( don't forget the Talk page ) - looks outdated but a good start.

If you get in touch with Pain, he'd probably be glad to let you beta.Test the NeverLauncher application.

Not sure if you have this solved but me and my friend had the same problem when i would host the game and i fixed it by turning off the firewall on my computer and he was able to log on but now he can't load other areas. he gets an error loading the module while trying to transition.
