Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice.
I was getting ready to import my shep so after beating the game once (with a rush), I went over it again with the same character. I wanted to get to level 60 and I'm pretty close. Right now I'm level 56. I have done every single side quest that I could, except for one on Feros with the data recovery because I acquired it after I beat the main Feros mission, and also a couple of citadel missions because I stole the Normandy and forgot to do them.
But everything else is pretty much done, except for some collection quests. I'm about to go to Ilos, and I'm just wondering what I should do. Because if I beat the game I will not be level 60, maybe 57... But I don't want to play through it again just to gain 3 levels, I'd need to do every single side quest and everything else with my own choices again I don't really want to do that.
I think ME2 acknowledges if you were level 60, I'm not sure if it reacts the same way to a slightly lower level? Can anyone clear this out for me?
My idea is that I could bump up my level with a cheat (since I have the PC version), and although I don't like cheating I wouldn't count this as a bad thing since I simply want to round up the number. It is my fault though, because I rushed the first playthrough. But before I do that, any advice?

Again, I've already finished all the side quests. I have no more UNC planets to go to. The only things I can kill are the things on Ilos and on, but you don't use the mako there anyway. Well, only a little bit.

What level did you start this playthrough on? Just curious.

But really your only option is to either try and use the DLC to make the jump, or cheat. The gap between 59 and 60 is huge, so even with the DLC, you probably can't made it.

I did Bring Down the Sky, and I've been trying to buy Pinnacle Station yesterday but the EA store kept saying it couldn't verify my information. I was actually gonna make a thread about that.
I think I started this playthrough at around 38. I don't remember  exactly, but I THINK that's what it was.

Are you playing the PC or 360 version? If PC, just use the Console commands to get yourself there.

If the first game you completed with that character was your first playthrough ever, that means you got capped at level 50. If it hadn't been your first playthrough you might have gotten to around 55, provided you did all the sidequests.

I'm not sure if it's possible to get 50-60 in one run, but if you're going for it, kill everything yourself without using the Mako gun, you get more XP that way.

This could potentially invalidate your saved game for ME2. I wouldn't recommend it.

Sh*t. Good thing you've thought of that. I'm honestly not sure, but it's possible.
My first playthrough with this char was my first playthrough ever. I got to like level 38 and I only did 2 side quests or so (wtf?). Then right away I started my 2nd playthrough doing everything. And now I'm only level 56.
Does anyone know if it's ok to import the game file into ME2 while being level 56-58? Would I still get extra credits and xp??

It's a lot faster to simply rush two playthroughs(main story only) and cap it off with a completioninst playthrough instead of two completionist playthroughs and killing everything on foot and so on. I KNOW I built 10 level 60 characters.

The same happen to me i finished my 1º playtrough at level 54 so i was pretty confident i will easily get to level 60 the second time and i finished the game at level 59 :crying:and so i did a 3º quick playtrough skipping everything and doing very little sidequests it took me 6 hours.

I really doubt that could happen if you only add credits and XP. It seems like it could only be invalidated in the case of doing something major, such as turning your Shepard into Garrus.

It really is your call though. I would suggest making a backup of your saves, and then trying the cheats. If the cheat saves somehow do end up invalidated, you'll still have a backup.

Yeah good point. What are you talking about turning Shepard into Garrus?

Also if I wanted to do a 3rd playthrough without the side quests I could but there are some things that would reflect in ME2 if you did side quests aren't there?

I made it from 50 to 60 on insanity, I just did EVERYTHING (including both DLC's) as well as killing as much on foot as posible,

of course those planets with the "Warning Hazard Level" were much harder to kill things on foot.

I made the leap from 59 to 60 right after I got to the cidadel after Ilos, but it sure was a hard deal to go from that large gap.

to OP. What I would recomend doing is getting as close as possible. Killing things on foot, and doing things that give you xp that are extreemly redundant. (ie Opening ALL the crates and omnigelling everything in there, and destroying the Armetures on Ilos, AND hacking their computer console afterwords to shut them dowm. )

The little things like that certainly helped get me to 60.

Good luck geting to 60 :D

I was just exaggerating some of the crazy **** you can do with the console. There's a youtube video where someone used the model of Parasini while talking to Parasini.

Unless you start your 2nd playthrough at close to 50, there is no way to make 60 without a 3rd.

Hrm. I just backed my stuff up and I'm going to go to Ilos and see what happens.

Again, I will put up my other question: If I rebeat the game without side quests, would it make a difference when I import it? I know I will probably have less paragon/renegade points since I'll have less decisions to make... but still.

I made it to 59 on my second playthrough on my Vanguard. *wince* I did every quest and killed just about everything I could, but admittedly I did not always get out of the Mako to kill mobs. Sometimes it was just less of a pain. Well, 59 is good enough for now. I'm not sure I really need the bonus from hitting 60 anyway - heh. Oh wait, well I guess I didn't finish the mineral quest...and maybe one of the other collection quests, but they wouldn't have made a dent in the exp still required to hit 60 (I think I have a bit over 100k to go at this point).

It's possible to make Level 60 in two playthroughs very easily so long as you have the xp boosting bonuses

If you don't do the sidequest in your final playthrough, none of them will carry over.

Not sure what you did wrong. I got to 60 with 2 playthroughs. Did all side quests explored every planet, I didn't do DLC and I never kill outside of the maco (when in the maco). I hit 60 just before the end of the second game.

Ended my first playthrough at 50. Unlocked Hardcore and played again. Got to 59.5(ish) and unlocked Insane. Annoying a bit, but I still need the Completed on Insane badge so.... *loads up third play through*
