That's not true. Shepard has to go after Saren. S/he has to work with Cerberus and defeat the Collectors. S/he has to spend the Reaper invasion uniting the galaxy.

But why is the question. What drives your Shepard to do what he does? That is something that each of us makes for our Shepards.

My Shepard has a different reasoning than yours, and your is different from somebody elses.

Unless your Auld Wulf, that shouldn't be a problem right?

This isn't a challenge to your claim. This is an expansion to your idea, or how I saw it.

how about the fact that she take's a breath? I'm fairly sure that dead people don't do that (but then I'm not in the medical profession so what do I know?)

No one has posted a reply to my question: Why is Shepard alive if the Catalyst said he'd be destroyed, as well? He IS partly synthetic.

Hell, might as well say the geth and EDI survived, as well! Why not!? -__-

The Catalyst didn't say that Shepard would be destroyed.

All I can say is this:
The more you think about that question, the more you realize that the "Breath Scene" is stupid & pointless.

The hell do you think would happen if Shepard's synthetic parts were to suddenly shut down? You cannot honestly believe that he'd live let alone survive the destruction of the Citadel. In short, this:

They make it pretty clear that they don't shut down, otherwise there'd be no breath at all, but then there's still the issue of other inconsistencies with the red wave that passes over everything. If all "synthetics" are going to be destroyed, I guess this begs the question as to what these synthetics are. Like, do other, more mundane pieces of technology disappear? Will my DVD player no longer be programmable? Why do the husks get vaporized, but the reapers themselves just topple over? A lot of questions with the imagery beyond something as simple as the breath scene, so I'm just going to assume that it's only things that are augmented by reaper tech somehow, which we have no mention of as being part of Shepard's implants. We also don't know to what extent Shepard is synthetic. He/She may have some synthetic protein to cover the scars, and some augmentation here and there, but from what I saw in the reconstruction, a lot of it was reviving dead tissue and replacing others with prosthetics.

We don't know how much of Shepard is synthetic, how much of it is damaged, or how much he/she relies on it.

The man was brought back to life after almost burning up in atmospheric entry and hitting the ground at terminal velocity.

I'm going to go watch the "Lazarus" cutscene again, but a decent chunk of him has to be synthetic. Enough to the point where he'd be dead if his synthetic parts stopped working.

And that's completely ignoring the fact that he "survived" the Citadel's destruction somehow.

It's Schrodinger's Shepard.

Until Bioware declare a canon ending, Shepard can be thought of as both dead and alive.

Don't put much stock in Bioware's "science." After about 6 minutes without oxygen the brain suffers permenant and irreverasble damage. Shep was without oxygen for several months. They never explained how they were able to overcome this little immutable factoid.

But basically, this is the best response I've seen so far.  Nice.
