Im from Germany and i find it absolutely unbelievable that someone would not have any clue about how 1990 the subject of homosexuality is.

Troll confirmed.
Homosexuality is a 2013 issue.

The only thing you are confirming is your egocentrism.

Most parts of Europe have a special, separate institution for homosexual marriage (which has less perks than heterosexual marriage), but I'd still say America has a longer way to go.

You're talking 'bout civil unions right? Yeeeaaahhhh... There's a reason beyond semantics why they're not called marriages, which you seem to be aware of so I won't repeat the obvious. Although anyone whose interested can read this, I presume the basics apply to civil unions in Europe as well. But you're right, the US does have a ways to go.

I'd say in most European countries there's a pretty laid-back attitude towards homosexuality. There's a city in Germany that's notoriously being made fun of for having a large amount of homosexuals. In Germany, anyway.

Just not enough to actually legalize gay marriage in most places...

Even 'Merica is streets ahead in that regard.

EDIT: Funnily enough Germany is one of the places that hasn't legalized it yet.

Not that weird, considering our current head of government, Angela Merkel, is part of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union). They're rather conservative. Then again, homosexuals are allowed to adopt and now it's finally allowed for BOTH partners to adopt the child instead of just one of them.
But yeah, it seems the government still thinks as marriage as something 'christian' and meant to be between a man and a woman. I'm sure we'll get past that in time.
Germany is, as far as I can see, miles ahead of a lot of other countries when it comes to acceptance of homosexuality, at least when it comes to the way society feels about it. I have yet to meet a person who did not accept me the way I am. (Though I tend to not associate with close-minded people in the first place.)

You're being quite hypocritical, you realize?
You are applying your German view to everywhere else. Have you not read the posts after yours? In some countries homosexuals are *killed*
So you dismissing homosexuality as  'so 90's is pretty egocentric.
And callous.

Well, I can't really speak for the majority of Europe, but in Germany it's really not that bad. Almost every major party is for homosexual marriages - just not the main leading one.

Yeah, oddly enough I've noticed that the stance taken by a country's population is often totally divorced from the stance taken by their government. Here for instance gay marriage is legal but the level of homophobia is mind boggling. But this is off topic.

-shakes pointy stick at troll- BOO!!! HISSS!!!!

EDIT: @sandalisthemaker ohemgee stop talking to him.

(sighs) Why are we posting in this thread again if that's the case?

I really don't care as long as the game doesn't keep shoving it in my face or make a big deal out of it. And I'd rather not get rivalry just for my character turning down a gay person. It's an option. Just leave it at that.

I, for one, get sick of people talking about homosexuality being shoved in their face.  Do you have any inkling of how bloody stupid that kind of statement makes you sound? Or the fact that it does indeed illustrate that you ARE homophobic?

People whine that homosexuality is being shoved in their faces when it is simply NOT HIDDEN.  Heterosexuality is NEVER said to be shoved in anyone's face, even when it is openly expressed; but anytime homosexuality is treated just as openly, it's said to be "shoved" onto people.  The ONLY reason for this is because heterosexuality is considered the norm and the default.

So the reality of the situation is that people who insist that homosexuality is only okay so long as it's not shoved in their faces, are really saying they prefer that they be able to ignore it, pretend it doesn't exist.  In other words, you're not nearly so indifferent about it as you would prefer yourself and others to believe.

Homosexuality IS an issue.
As long as there are countries that deny our existence, take away our most basic rights, as long as there are people like the OP that seem to think it's their ****ing right to demand that we get robbed of representation because they've got their head so far up their ****ing asses they can't see what's right in front of them, as long as there are entitled ****s in the world that can't get it in their ****ing heads that society's heteronormative outlook DOES NOT GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO DICTATE PEOPLE'S ACTIONS IN  REGARDS TO SOMETHING
THAT
HAS
ABSOLUTELY
NOTHING
TO DO WITH THEM,
HOMOSEXUALITY IS STILL AN ISSUE.

No political discussions, please.

End of line.
