If the Mass Effect verse was real, and you were an alien(doesn't matter which species) would you look down on humanity?

Just a thought that popped into my a few moments ago. Honestly if I was a Turian or Asari I would probably think less of humans.

I think I'd probably adapt a similar ideology to what I have now: Individuals can only be judged on a individual basis, and the whole cannot be used to determine the singular. Works in the opposite direction too.

That would mean that, although I could easily be friends (or more ;3) with humans, I would generally look upon humanity with caution. I'd see them as too risky, rushing ahead without too much thought of the consequences.

That said, if I were an alien, I'd either be Quarian, Volus, or Salarian. Quarian because I'm heavily tech orianted. Volus because my career (and personal fascination) is business and finance. Salarian because talk/walk/think/live fast and has a practically nonexistant sex drive.

If I were Prothean I definitely would but the other species aren't really any further along then we are to say they've had over a 1000 year head start on us so they have no right to feel superior.

Quite frankly, they should feel threatened by our rate of progress and rightly so.

Yes I would look down on Humanity for being too aggressive and stupid. Personally As an Alien, that humans should be a client species on princple in order to learn their place in the galaxy. Without Order, the galaxy will be in chaos.

The relay 314 incident was unavoidable because if we didn't even know there was a galactic civilization at the time how can we possibly be expected to abide by it's laws[?] - it was hardly an act of aggression. You can just as easily argue that the Turians approached the situation all wrong and it ended in conflict because of the Turians tendency towards aggressive militarism. They didn't even attempt a diplomatic solution until we proved ourselves their equal militarily even if we initiated hostilities. We defended ourselves, just as the Turians did in turn.

You could say that Humanity is 'aggressively' expanding the attican traverse's unsettled worlds - but with the blessing of the council and in accordance with council law. Unlike the Batarians aggressors who are actively provoking the Council and the Alliance.

Humanity is no more 'aggressive' than any other species in it's space-faring infancy.

Do you think less of Americans because their nation is much younger than France or Great Britain?

I would at humanity as a fast rising species. It has the same problems as the other species do. Take the governments of all species and throw them in the garbage things might be better.

No. But I am an American so there may be some bias there.

But seriously I know it would be bigoted of alien me to look down on humanity, but I'm just speaking honestly here. I would seriously be at least a bit xenophobic towards humans.

Anarchy might be better...?

@OP
No, because I would be a Reaper, and would think Humanity is a promising candidate.

If humans get a chance, they'll wipe out everything bigger than themselves. So yes, I would probably look down to them, maybe make them sort of lower class citizens and hope for the best.

I don't know, if you look at the aliens in mass effect they seem to have very diverging thoughts on humans and humanity.
It might depend on the context.

I would be a product of my society and culture.

And if I were my current myself in an alien body somehow in a fictional reality, I'd be freaked out.

Idk, if I was Batarian I would totally hate them, but any other I probably wouldn't trust them that much but I wouldn't look down on them.

I'd see the potential in humans as a game-changing race, but I wouldn't condone how fast they tried to become leaders of the galactic realm and gain Citadel power. As long as they deserved it. Like, if Shepard was Paragon at the end of ME1, I'd be okay with it. But if he had the Council killed, I'd lose some respect for humans.

"This one wishes to inquire what this 'jellyfish' is that the human speaks of? Should this one take offence?"

Seriously, though, I think I'd be more or less cautious towards humans if I were an alien. Moreso if I were a batarian or a turian. Humans are an ambitious race; who knows what their ambition will drive them to do? Could you imagine if one of them were to leave the council to die or something?  Or worse, create a homicidal AI with fancy lyrical skills?

Though, personally, I'd prefer to be a quarian; then I'd be indifferent as well as confused as to why I'm not human anymore! 8D

I guess that'd depend on who I'd be.

Turian: Upstart gnats. No respect for the galactic order, no patience, taking anything they can get their hands on!
Krogan: Hehe, you gave the Turians the boot. I like the new blood...
Asari: OMG! More aliens to fu,- ahem welcome to the galactic fold, humans!
Salarian: Technological advancement impressive. Adeptability surprising. Rapid rise to power... troubling.

All I know is, I do NOT want to be a Volus or Quarian and have to wear a suit all the time.

It would be interesting to be an Asari, since they live to be ~1000.

So I guess either Asari (though I don't know if I can truly say that since there are no male asari, and I'm a male myself) or Turian since they don't have any true disadvantage (forced to wear suits 90% of the time, no genophage, etc)
