I mean, they trusted soverign so easily, it's like, why did they do it? I mean, I know the reason goes deeper than they believed the Reapers are some kind of God. Did they just want too much power and rule the galaxy with the Reapers?

If you had been raised your entire life to believe in God and then Christ was incarnate before your very eyes and wielding terrible power, would you follow Him anywhere?  Do anything that He asked?

I think that if you replaced the Geth with humans and put them in the same position, them trusting the Reapers wouldn't be so for off. So imagine that humans have just realized that they can think and maintain their sentience. They are fresh in the Galaxy with no friends and only minimal intelligence. Then they see an entity very like themselves with immense power come and promise to give them a share of that power. It would surprise me for them to gravitate toward the Reapers.

The geth wish to make a future for themselves, when Nazara came to the geth he told them that if they helped him that he would give them a future amongst the Reapers, 95% of the geth refused this offer as they felt the chance of Reapers seeing them as allies was unlikely, they felt that the would be used as slaves like they were before. The 5% that did not agree with this decision and took the risk and choose to worship Nazara as a god in hopes that like all worshipers they would be rewared for there actions, these geth are called heretics, the reason the heretics seem so gullible is because like organics not all geth have the same opinion, as Legion said " They think two is less then three, and we think four is greater then three" or something amoung those lines.

Questions, anyone?

The heretics simply came to different mathematical conclusion. They rounded down instead of up.
