Leave it alone, Billy. It was my fault for even responding to that comment in this thread... I should have taken it to PM from the start, something I have now rectified.

This is a good thread with Cain and MegaBeast doing a good thing for the community. I do not want to see that derailed/destroyed by devolving into a flame thread. Especially not because of anything I said; I would be mortified if that happened.

I like the Cabal but honestly I just end up running her as a weapons platform so I don't bother.

I kinda fell into that rut with the Cabal too but I think the melee build could be a good change of pace.

Pretty much.... only Krolord and Kroguard melee is good enough for Platinum. I'd take 75% of the kits in the game into Platinum before I'd take her... Nightshade Blades aren't particularly useful on Platinum either.

Most of those have pretty big drawbacks. Weight, ammo and so on. Acolyte has none of that and does all important things. 

It has that whole "totally worthless against armor" thing going against it  but otherwise... yeah, you're right.

Have you tried soloing Platinum with the Krolord? It is hard as hell, I tried 3 times and got fed up with it. Melee is unfortunately limited in this game.

I've only ever attempted 3 Plat solos... two wave 8 deaths and a "OMG WTF" wave 2 sync kill out of nowhere... it's just not my thing... I hang in there too long and try to finish enemies when I should run away.

Superb guide. Love the first build. I previously deemed the points to get to rank 6 of poison strike worth it, but I don't think it is any more. Maybe on other characters it would be, but on her, the points are better spent elsewhere.

Not for crowds/bosses it isn't... for 1-3 mooks... it's hard to beat. Anything that can OSK is always a viable option...

Stunlocking a Phantom to death with wolverine style light melee spam is extremely rewarding...

Besides... not every build should be a min/max Platinum build... that makes an old game no fun. Fun + Variety > Min/Max

Great video! Finally, someone that can make a compelling case for her. Will try the meele build as I have plenty of weapon platform specialists already.

I mentioned this earlier... I only use that technique on 3 kits... Novaguard, Slayer, Cabal... that leaves 60 other kits (none of whom have the Acolyte equipped).

I'm not talking about how you use the acolyte. I've used it on pretty much all my kits, and it's amazing on all them.

it is interesting how i play this class somewhere in the between the two builds you shared. I move around a lot more like the melee build, but it is much more similar to the soldier build.

I also used Poison Strike for some crowd control situations (2-3 enemies).

cool stuff, hopefully we'll see some more cabals online, and/or show everyone how the cabal is far from worthless on Gold+


EDIT: I like the executioner pistol (only) on my cabal as well, it's very fun. Acolyte + Hurricane is a great combo.

Not true at all. I run that build with 2 Nightshade Blades and it's plenty. The rare times I ever feel the need for more (usually wave 10) I just pop a thermal clip pack and get two more. We all have hundreds of those anyway right?
