Do you prefer to:

1. Bring the fight to the enemy: You prefer to attack the enemy head on and engage them aggressively.

2. Let the enemy come to you: You prefer to wait for the enemy and attack them from a defensive position.

3. Something else

I usually prefer playstyle 1, unless I'm using some extremely fragile kit that requires conservative play. What about you?

I like to have defined areas on the map, pretty much bad guys in front, open area to the rear. It's nice to know where and when you can attack at all times.

Depends on the map.

Category 1 on maps like White, Glacier, Giant, Reactor, Ghost, etc.

Category 2 on maps like London (gah), Condor, and somtimes Goddess...etc.

Kind of a mix of 1 and 2. I like to be super aggressive but also make sure I've got right hand advantage or some type of cover available when I need it, such as when praetorians do their cheap laser move. :|

First off I'll start by saying I'm not a Plat or Gold player.

So now that walk of shame is out of the way.

I don't really have a play style.
I would say it is based on map, enemy, and the character I'm playing and how I have them built.
I tend to change it up even then.
So for example on wave 1-3 I may let them come to me. Then 4-6 I go to them. Finally the rest maybe a mix of both.
However its not always in that order. It just a matter of how I want to play the character for the biggest part. Also another factor is who is in the group if playing as a team.

Bring fight to the enemy. Sometimes head on, sometimes by being smart. I like the "they never knew what hit them" tactic. I am far too reckless and impatient to wait hidden somewhere.

I usually only ever use Category 2 if I'm using a sniper on a big map (i.e SI /w BW on Rio, or if I'm clurching/soloing.I'll sometimes block the lower control room spawn on Giant to force spawns closer to the other three and just pick off the stragglers that spawn on the lower side of the map or if the spawn decides to not work as intended ad spawn an enemy on top of me when there's half a map worth of psawns that are completely empty.

Mainly category 1.

I would say, I run to enemies and then engage in semi cautious fight I also run away like a little girl if it goes down too much.

Number 1 is my go to playstyle, but I play more conservatively once I get dropped once or twice. If that doesn't happen, then number 1 all the way.

Well yes to many above who say playstyle depends on map and kit, BUT while I like to play novaguards and kroguards also, I find that I'm most comfortable with the category 2 kits. They seem to fit my innately preferred style better.

So to answer your question my preferred style would be #2.

Seriously though, use both styles. much depends on the character playing with... and the enemy... map - not so much, I found...

Playstyle 1 for all except Salarian Infiltrator on Dagger/Giant. That is the only exception.

On gold it's #1 . On plat it's usually 70% #2 and 30% #1 , and depends on the kit and the team.
