There's no great secret to it. You just have to buy a lot of packs from the store, gold and platinum give the most credits so you need to play more gold/platinum.
Ok, that is all fine and dandy. However someone like me who is just now starting out can't play Gold and Plat and would not be useful in Silver on the ave.
Most players kick you if you have low gear. I've been kicked on Bronze an ave. of 60x before I even get a chance to gear up with anything. Even on times when I jump into a game on wave 2 and play all the way to the end and top at 1st or 2nd I still get kicked. Of course most players on Bronze have a N7 of 2300. So I can see my little N7 of 20 getting kicked.
Just keep on grinding.
To w0lfam0da1s---Oh and before I forget I hope you get better. I know that being immobile is a pain not just for you but for the wife and kids.
If you're on PS3 then I'd be happy to help you through some golds to help flesh out your manifest.
Edit: Kicking in Bronze is madness, you're better off not playing with those fools.

Veteran Packs: till maxed uncommon and rare
after that, i found buying one of each pack Arsenal, then PSP, then Spectre gave me at least halfway decent UR drops. really though, after your rare's are maxed the store really begins to show it's teeth...

Like I said. I've played a few hours a week when I could from day one. I've seen people max out there manifest with in a month of having the game until new stuff came out.
Also I do buy the Rpacks then the Vpack and when I need to the JBpacks. I totally understand how that works.
I end up with character training before anything else. Then level 1 ammo. If I'm lucky I'll get a gun upgrade or a gear upgrade.
But I've had more character training on humans soldiers and vanguards and adept then any other characters. Even before they put the special packs in. I got character training or characters and level 1 ammo before anything else. Just last night I got character training 6 times and three level one ammo and one level 2 pistol and one level 1 adrenaline rush.
That is the kind of stuff I get.

I have a long way to go, and I played since day 1 too. I have been playing lots of other games too, and I have two young kids and work 12 hr shifts, so I dont play as much as I would like. I can't play right now for example because my lovely cuddly 2yr old son is watching pingu on my lap as I type.
My sig shows what I have unlocked, and I mostly have a bit of everything at least.
I remember when I had just two kids and worked 12hr shifts.
I just keep getting crappy stuff. Even with the few Gold games I've been able to play. Also with having more time I still don't have time.
So anyways....

Thats families for you! You are exactly right, you can have all the "free time" in the world, but its never really free until the kids are asleep, the house is spotless, everything is prepeared for the next day and I have put a few hours in with the wife, and she herself usually has a huge list of things that need fixing, which I wont have time to do with all the places she drags me to, or all the people she invites round etc and then finally I will get online for a couple of hours, where the game will typically disconnect me at wave 10 on gold, effectively wasting a third of my total play time.
My manifest is most of what it is by going without hours and hours of sleep, If I hadnt played lots and lots of other games as well I might just have maxed it perhaps - but usually the earliest I can ever get online is 10pm and more often than not its closer to midnight.
16hrs is a long tiring day, no wonder you dont get on much, especially with more than 2 kids(you must be mad)!

When I got out of the military I put my family first. I know that they had a hard life with me not being there. I'm still a bit young but I also married into a premade family. Then hade kids with her.
So yeah it can get wild here. Then I am recovering from a car crash that the docs say I'm lucky to be alive. But that is neither here nor there.
I do get why people say play Gold or Plat or do speed runs. I just don't think they know what its like to try to play with a house full of screaming kids.
Or the fact that many players will kick a player if they don't have a level they think is good equipped. So for someone like me that don't have good or so called good stuff it becomes pointless to try Gold let alone Plat.
So Yeah....Enjoy the family while your young enough to.

Wow..
So work or school wasn't a factor or other daily everyday life things?
So lets say you had school be it High School or University.
Your remainder of your free time was gaming. On the ave. school is 7hr if High School. University is about the same depending on what you take so lets say 4hrs on ave for University. Oh and lets not forget the time we spend on a paper or studying. That should be a total of 2hrs even for good students. I'm not counting travel time or lunch. So far we got about an ave of 6hrs no matter how you look at it on school stuff alone. Then the ave person sleeps 5-8hrs. So now we are up to about 10hrs. With the remainder of that time gamming.
That's a lot of gamming time. I should know because I've put in a few days like that but not many.
Wife and kids and basic life stuff is what fills my day way before I get to game.
Anyways
Have A Goo Day

Most people with max manifests have like 1000 hours played.
That's the equivalent of working a part time job (20hrs per week), for an entire year.
You would define that as 'quickly?'

We all did just fine before they added gear slots, so I wouldn't worry about equippables if you don't have them, the main thing for Gold and higher is that you have a few medi-gel handy and missiles. The Geth Trooper, Asari Huntress, N7 Paladin, N7 Shadow, Collector Adept and many more can be taken straight to gold without really worrying about weapons - most common or early rares easily suffice - I used to mainly use the Eagle at one point for the cooldowns, until my Hurricane levelled up to be just as light. The weekend events really helped as there was a 25% chance of earning one of three of the best weapons in the game (Valiant, Crusader and Hurricane)for only playing a single game each time.
I would focus on getting your N7 level above 1000 to avoid vote-kicking, then play gold as much as you can with power classes till you get good stuff. I played mostly silver for ages as I never had any medi-gel and didnt want to go gold.

wolf - make a thread on here and ask for people to play with on whatever platform you are on, state your usertag, what times you tend to play and what levels you usually play at. You'll use up less consumables and get more extractions because you'll be playing with people who want to win and will prob help revive you etc and earn more money!
(I havent finished my manifest, still got about 100 URs to goI started playing in May 2012 but spent too long playing bronze and silver )
yeah I did that and its going slowly.

I'm still not done and I've had this game since it came out. I have 8 UR's to max out, they range from II to IX. A total of 39 more UR cards are needed.

Don't think I've ever seen someone vote kicked for having less than 1000. Mine's 990, I don't get kick votes for it.
It's more like 300ish I think, when people will stop caring what your N7 is.

if you are a casual player you won't ever max your manifest unless you spend real money on packs,
That's bioware's/EA's way of giving us all the finger for not paying them more.

Well, one good thing is that power based classes are not so limited weapon-wise because you don't really have to rely on them as your main source of damage. I have always said that these are the best places to start if playing higher difficulties when your skill level is there but your manifest is not.

I don't like the N7 Paladin. The N7 Shadow is ok for me. I only got the Collector a little while back maybe two weeks ago. The Huntress is also ok. I'm good on gel and missiles for now.
I like my Merc right now. Don't have to use to much gear on him. Something for shields( I have that) and I throw on a few consums and still get kicked and this is even when I host.
I'm starting to think I need to kick people more.
But my little post has been doing ok Ive hooked up with some players and made some credits. I spend wisely and still end up with crap.
lets break it down a bit as of now....
Play time
515H 29M 50S
Games played
1768
N7 1314
I guess you would call it in game meds
8,655
that's just looking at it real quickly.
The best I can say is check out the manifest..
w0lfamoda1s and platform is PS3.....
I know someone will say that is my problem Im on a PS3...
Anyways...

1000H or platinum? No. Maxed manifest before Retaliation at 800H and maybe 300H of that was platinum. I know this varies, but the main point is that if you are playing platinum constantly, it may take 700H to even less maybe 500H.KalilKareem wrote...
Maxing the manifest takes around 1000h of platinum. For us long timers platinum wasn't there for the first half, effectively cutting income in 50% for half pour career, so make that 1200-1300h. So the simple answer is "play 4h+ per day since release", the even more simple answer is that the vast majority of players with maxed manifests has shelled out significant amounts of real money to get it. Money that is founding the development of ME4, I salute their dedication.

Yeah, so I'm guessing most of your play time was on Silver. Your Uncommon weapon mods are at max at least, so that's good.
Of the Commons and Uncommons, you can make good use of the Mantis, Incisor, Raptor and Mattock.
If you showed up in a Gold lobby with some of your Rare weapons, I could see you getting kick votes. Your Reegar, Raider, Pirahna and Claymore should be useable though.
You have some useable URs. BWII, Crusader IV, Hurricane III, Harrier II, Typhoon II, Paladin III...
You have an alarming lack of equipment. Lack of equipment is another thing that may get you kick votes. I'm gonna guess you've been buying the 99K packs. Don't do that, your income of consumables is too low that way. Buy Spectre Packs instead. It'll give you more shots at getting Rare Gear and Mods too.
