btw I know a guy that maxed his manifest in bout 650 hrs but all he played was platnium non-stop. No speedrunning; just pure skill. Hands down the most consistent player I've ever seen. Always extracted. Can only failing once or twice out of all the games I ran with him

Thats all I did...I never did speedruns. Grinded the hell out of Platinum...still do, and always extract

Lets say the average number of hours a day is 4hrs per each day during the week and 6hrs per each day on weekends.(yes I know people play more then that each day.)
If you did this from day 1, of mostly U/U/G and some plat farming, you'd have a max manifest by november-december.
Its what I did. Maxed manifest in about 600h.

by playing the game since it's out more than a year ago.
it's just a matter of time really.
Pretty much this. There is no secret to it, many of us have played since the game came out. There were long stretches where I didn't play for weeks on end (either bored or had rl stuff to do) Often times when I heard a new dlc was coming out, I'd do crunch sessions when I had free time. I would just run gold or plat games and bank up some credits, usually 4 or 5 million. When the dlc went live, I would just splurge on PSPs, most of the time unlocking most of the new stuff that came with that dlc. If that didn't work, I would just play off and on until I unlocked everything in that dlc, so when the next one came out, I wouldn't still be unlocking stuff from an older set of content.

Or if you're really desperate, just speedrun a bunch. That's what I have been doing and I've played around a hundred hours on PC since I switched from Ecks Bawks and I've nearly maxed rares.

Use slaves as I did ;p. Two of my 12 year old cousins spend the whole days with me so I had to find them something to do. I showed them a few tricks and in three months they made tons of money for me and also about 60000 challenges points
Now that's optimizing your time...The OP did say they have kids, so why not use them? ironically, thanks to the lack of chat window, you don't have the bad ehavious I find in other online games so I have no problem recommending this for 12 year olds.
As for the OP, focus on getting your gold weapons...frankly, many of the more *I win* weapons are gold. Reegar, Claymore, Piranha and your skill/knowledge of gold maps and characters. (A claymore wielding AIU is certainly going to clear gold faster than one wielding an Eviscerator but someone who can solo gold will do better with the latter than someone who can't solo silver with the former)

First he has to buy Jumbo Packs I'd say, it doesn't look like he buys those at all : He has only 16 Missiles and 9 Survival Ops Packs (+ the lack of equipement you mentionned), yet he also has 171 Medi-Gels, which either means he is playing on low difficulty settings, or if he ever dies, doesn't use them.
For someone who has 515H of playtime, it's extremely underwhelming, to the point I've never ever seen someone who has such an empty consumable section. (for comparison mine : social.bioware.com/n7hq/home/inventory/)
In ~500h (now 740h), I had already maxed all my rare stuff and mods, still missed some URs at the time, but I had consumables : pretty much the same number as in nowadays, except with less or no level IVs and less garbage consumables (like Explosive Rounds or Adrenaline I), and I wasn't even playing on Platinum yet, or not enough in order to really make the difference.
Basically if you're reading me w0lfam0da1s, if you wanna get Rares and still want to play on Silver, stick to Jumbo Packs and Veteran Packs (Rares might come from Veteran Packs as well, though it's less common than from Spectre Packs, at least you can give a shot for every successful Silver game), if you ever want to play on Gold, Jumbo Packs, Spectre Packs, and Arsenal Packs, the latter giving a lot of Rare stuff, but doesn't give N7 weapons as fast as with the other packs. (I'm telling that by experience, I'm finding more N7 weapons in Reserve Packs than in Arsenal Packs)
But just so you know : any weapon is good for Silver, you don't necessarly need an Harrier X. Even on Gold I sometimes find myself fooling around with common or uncommon weapons yet that are still effective enough, then again there's no secret in order to do this : the only thing you need is some experience.[/quote]
So just for the bold and underlined part of this.
I do buy Jumbo Packs a lot.
The reason why my SOP slot is low is because I use them so I don't die as much. Same with the Missiles I use them. Like when team mates are getting overrun or I have to go into the fray to revive because no one else will. Just the little things that I do causes me to use thing like that.
I am also not a gun ho kind of player. I play with the intent of doing my best trying to be helpful and little things like that. I'm not afraid to get my ass blown off trying to revive someone because you never know how much gel they have. It's better to be safe then sorry. So if I'm getting shot at while doing a hack or something I keep at it. If I go down I'm more then likely going to revive myself more so then the team.
So as I've gotten better and know where the spawn points are for the most part I don't have to use my gel because I'm not dying as much.
(and now that I've said that I just know I'll start getting my but handed to me.)
So know that I've got that out of the way. Don't jump to conclusions about a player based on low missiles and sops because they just may be the ones who do use them. Not universal but just keep that in mind before you judge.
Have A Good Day

Play time- 277H 18M 25S
Games played - 852
You can tell I played lots of bronze at first, and then have mostly played silver - but I think I have been really lucky and had a good spread of all the weapons, it doesn't matter to me that they are not maxed as long as I actually have one of something. Its the Lancer and Typhoon that have been evading me, but luckily I have enough of nearly every other weapon so I don't actually need them. I don't have any grenade gear either, not one..But hey, I have put nowhere near the 1000H mark and have a good portion of everything.

The game also hooked me up because of the variation it offers. The most important thing for me is / was having access to all the kits. If they hadn't dropped so quickly, I'd have quit rather likely.
The weapons are a nice incentive and reward but I don't HAVE to max them all.
