I'm not saying i never troll. I like trolling, it's fun. Maybe it spills over in to the way i speak normally, but am i not allowed to have an opinion about the mass effect storyline other than it's the greatest thing since sliced bread?

I think i'm more than allowed not to enjoy it, and if you want to think that i'm "trolling" because of that, maybe... you're the troll.

Before ME3MP I played MW2, COD4, Borderlands, L4D2, TF2, but CS 1.6 is the first shooter game I started playing back in 2004, even owned a successful zm server and after a 2 year break I'm back into that game .

First online shooter I've played though, which is what I think Stardusk was getting at.

And I do feel exactly like you, I can't get into other shooters. For two reasons really: first one being the lore as Stardusk described. Second one being the powers. ME3 is not a pure shooters, it has lots of different abilities which increase the variety of the gameplay to a level in which you can actually feel like playing different games depending on your class choice. You won't find that in other shooters. They're always boring as hell.

Anyways, this was my first horde mode-only based multiplayer.

Then i played Doom. I still have it even now and play it from time to time.

Stardusk, Look for a game called Unreal 2: the awakening. Thats probably right up your alley. Its an older game, but i thought the connection to that game was pretty good. It was originally a SP game, then they released a MP side to it later in an update.  obviously it uses the old unreal 2 engine, but crank it up and it still looks pretty.

Now if you want to try something thats funny and full of nonsense, try any of the Serious Sam series lol

All seriousness. Tried to play it. Hit things with a crowbar. had 7 bullets, died 100 times, snapped the disc and tossed it out the window.

just couldn't get the hang of it. Not the game for me.

ME3 is the first online multiplayer shooter I've bothered to play.

My first multiplayer shooter though was probably Goldeneye 64.

My first shooter at all was Wolfenstein 3D.

I remember that mod in quake 2. But I was doing 56k dial up match making in doom before all that.

One of the best frags I've ever seen at 3:50, bleh evades midair, grabs the shield belt and twitch-combos znatch.

Unreal Tournament is a great way to remember that there's always someone better than you; who has better coordination, who can predict better, who can evade better.

Unreal Tournament also puts into perspective just how craptastic call of duty and all the rest of the "modern military shooter" genre is; spray and pray garbage, devoid of any twitch skills, prediction, spacial awareness or strategy.
