Doom 95.
The first videogame I ever played, with my dad.
I used to have trouble dealing with the fact the things on screen had to die.
Good memories.

That game is still glorious.

Damn right

also lol

Dat nostalgia.

No, it wasnt my first shooter. I grew up playing Unreal Tournament (I still love that game). But it was my first multiplayer game. I remember telling my brother I dont want to play with other people and I will never ever try the multiplayer after he raved about it in demo. :P But my love for Mass Effect universe got the better of me and now I play more often than my brother does.

Don't really even consider ME a shooter.

Only played RPG games before it tbh.

My first shooter was Goldeneye back in '95. Still one of the best.

I'm primarily an action adventure guy that's been shifting more towards the RPG crowd for the past 6-7 years. I've been a shooter though since Goldeneye, and I've always been a big fan of that genre. Mass Effect is my favorite franchise period. Only Star Wars rivals it.

Halo is probably my favorite, though BF wins for best MP in my opinion. I also have a very healthy respect for the older classics and standards like TF2, Quake, and Doom.

I never actually realized the extent of gamers who never touched MP until I came onto the BSN. I pretty much grew up on Halo 2 and 3 and Battlefield Online.

Some games, like BF, are almost entirely for MP. Halo has the best integration of SP and MP I've seen, and honestly, Halo is just plain fun to do random **** on with a bunch of guys. Make a map, blow people up in random hilarious ways, and play the best CTF ever.

Some games, like ME, should have been SP only games. I hold both genre's in very high esteem, though I have been getting annoyed with how perpetual online crap has been getting in the way of a strong story.

I have been playing shooters since the first Wolfenstein 3D.  That dates me, I know.  ME3 MP was the first (and to this day, still the only) online MP game I have played.  I usually enjoy SP versions of games more.

Same here. ME3 MP is only the second game I've ever played online. The first was Motorstorm, 2007 arcade racing game. That's it.

So, which RPG was your favourite Stardusk? And please, let it be something that we twenties might have at least heard about! :D

As I said, I never knew there were that many people who never got into MP before.

I've gotta ask, and I'm not leading this question in any way, but why do you guys... not take interest in MP. This isn't for ME (which I believe should be SP to the core), but for other games in general?

I've played MP games before in my life, and enjoyed them. Just never MP shooters. I used to prefer SP though, since I've always been a fan of good stories RPG... And MP RPG don't have good stories. When they exist.

But... This might have changed thanks to ME3 MP

I was disappointed when they said there would be no more DLC and that after months of rumours of a Redguard DLC. Oh well, the mods continue to be made and if I had the skill and time I would make one as well, has been long in planning.

If the Combat is getting stale I recommend SkyRe.
It has a reproccer that makes Mod added gear scale up to SkyRes standards a better overhaul than OOO was back in the era of Oblivion.

I also recommend Immersive Creatures for a bit of variety.

Oh brother? You think I DON'T know Skyre? I have known it since its inception; you cannot play Skyrim without it.

No.

Doom was.

I came here to say this. I played the hell out of the Doom and Quake games back in the day.

Funnily enough I didn't really get into competitive shooters until TF2 though. That's still the only competitive shooter I play (and I barely play it these days.)

It wasn't.

Also, Call of Booty is a highly annualised, commercialised, monetised series which rips people off year after year. And the sad thing is that there is a gigantic number of fools out there who would buy it every single year even though Activision makes only very tiny changes to their Call of Booty games.

You cant compare that with ME3 which is not a twitch-fest FPS and got free maps, weapons, kits etc. along with tonnes of other support.

Even if you do others might not.
Taking the chance to mention a good mod in context of the conversation might raise the awareness of said mod and give a good hint for other players reading the conversation on where to look if they're interested in a game and want mods for it.

Same reason why people keep mentioning the same builds and guns in threads.

Btw got a modlist? Would like to see what yah use.

Only if you transfer your knowledge of Finnish morphology to me?

Still, what mods are you interested in? I use over 150 mods.
