It was for me and since then I have tried several others but could never really get into it and thought about as to why that was the case. I realised that part of it the lore and story goes along with MP, a long history of playing the SP and the connection to the ME universe. I am not really sure if I can get into shooters just for the sake of playing a shooter. MP made you feel like part of the universe itself, whereas Call of Booty is just a shooter (a popular one) but has no lore to accompany it. What are your thoughts on this matter?
It was the first online MP I ever took part in, having no interest in it from hearing about what went on in COD and Halo matches.
Now I'm hooked, but have no interest in other MP. Why? Same as you, the universe and lore just have me hooked in FOR EVAH.

Nothing that's not in the top 100?
Yeah I would be interested in this too, from you too, Ziegrif. I always love to discover some extremely underrated, wonderful little mod. And there are tons around.
About me not liking Skyre. It's all about customization. I like to be able to customize every little bit and piece of the game to my liking. I'm almost obsessed on that when I play any TES game, lol. So you see, big mods which overhaul the whole experience are almost always not nice to me, cause chances are that there will be a change I don't like. Some I can deal with, but some are too much and enough to make me dump the mod entirely. I like to collect many little mods that alter a little part of the game to my liking, so that in the end everything's what I want it to be. That comes with the downside that the game is usually a lot less stable, sadly. But I live with that.
So yeah, same reason I really disliked OOO: too big.

I use the Dwemer autoblade, Liliths Sickle, Lost Longswords, Nightmare armor, Throwing Knives WIP.
Lore friendly armors... well everything else seems to be a bit more well known.
I haven't taken a look at the Nexus in depth yet just taken some of the top mods and and the stuff Gopher recommends and go with those. The vanilla weapons are interesting enough for me.
Funny thing is I have no idea which mod adds which. @-@
As for Oblivion, I may have some lesser known stuff for thatm like the Spear of Etna from Disgaea. My Oblivion mods are a bit more varied... well as varied as OOO allows... I actually don't remember what I've installed in Oblivion. Gotta take a look.
Edit: Opened up the OBMM for the first time in years.
I have a shovel mod... A magical shovel. And a baseball bat... and the holy sandal of God that I never got to work properly in Oblivion. o.O Oh wow I also have a Slaughterfish Melee weapon and Pumpkin heads.
Someone needs to make a Shovel mod for Skyrim.

@Ziegrif you forgot some certain special mods I found for you ;-)
Aren't most of those for Fallout 3 and NV?
You did get me that one mod that made the kids look less like they had been hammered with a frying pan.

My first shooter ever was the Ultimate Doom, back in 1993 (year?). I used to be so scared of the game, and now I just laugh every time I die and the funny midi sound scream kicks in.

No.
Doom was.
Alas, I grew bored with shooters, found that RPG or hybrid RPG/shooter was more to my liking, I need the story line.
OP, as you said, ME3 MP seems different from the typical shooter, because of the SP story line.
I look forward to ME4 MP, but not sure I'll be picking up any other shooters between now and then.
Looking for the next (or one of the more recent) RPG or RPG/shooter hybrids to interest me.
I picked up The Witcher series, but have not tried it, will do so when I get my new computer later this week.

WTF is wrong with you people?
Nope, ME was NOT my first shooter. although my first shooter ran off the same engine as ME. It was the glorious, unbeatable, legendary, epic Unreal Tournament.
forever in my heart!

Now that I think about it though, I've never played any modern military shooters. The genre just doesnt appeal to me for some reason. I guess I just like things more "fantastic" or story based, less based solely in reality.
