Recently I've began to wonder which scenario I would have preferred.

1- The whole origins idea was never executed and the additional  development / disk resources where dedicated to more quest, sub quest, and well.. you get the idea. or

2- Dragon Age origins as we know it today.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Dragon Age:O, yet not to the extent that I have finished a second play through (one attempt, yet find it to repetitious to complete again). Now obviously this is just my opinion, which is why I am starting to wonder which scenario the majority of you folks would have rather bought?

The second. I don't really see how removing origins and replacing them with other random quests would've made things better. At least this way, each character has some sort of background to set them aside from the other.

Yes Sloth, each origin initially introduces additional quests and sub quests prior to Ostagar but then the origins all eventualy merge into a vast amount of content which relies heavily upon a linear story and in the end equals minute variations from one origin to the next... so um.. yeah, its not that I'm deflecting anything away from what has been accomplished with Dragon Age:O, I simply stated without spelling it out, that I would have rather seen the resources put forth towards the origins into a single origin with additional compelling quest, sub quest, dialoge options, visual impacts on the world, gear, areas to explore, npcs and all that other great 'rpgness'.

On a side note, how many of you would prefer to see the next game in the Dragon Age franchise follow the forumla of various different origins?

I would like to see the origins again. Maybe they will add the human commoner this time. ^_^

But surely this would just be a different means, to essentially the same end? Instead of having the option to experience the impact of several different characters on the world from their beginnings to their ends, you'd experience but one, only with extra quests, except that they wouldn't be extra quests, because you've lost several different origins :D

Now if your argument is that the origins just weren't interesting enough to warrant the use of resources, and that better dialogue/quests/change could've been implemented, then that's a different matter. However, I really don't see the benefit of removing quests in favour of quests. I see the benefit of including BIGGER consequences for all performed actions, but then, that probably could've been implemented regardless of origins (which I'd imagine is something we'll see improved come the second instalment)
