Imagine BioWare does a crossover fighter from their franchise similar to the game Injustice: Gods Among Us (doesn't have to be the same engine, of course).

What would your ideal BioWare fighter roster consist of?

The rules:
-Characters must be from a BioWare series (Baldurs Gate, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars The Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights). Characters from Dragon Age/Mass Effect comics and novels are okay. Despite being an Obsidian title, Neverwinter Nights 2 characters are okay to use
-Must have twelve heroes and twelve villains
-Villains can be either antagonists or party members with morally grey/neutral/evil tendencies (Morrigan, Viconia, Zevran, etc...) as they could be on the 'bad guys' team through coercion or alignment. These same morally grey/neutral/evil tendency can also be on the 'hero' side as well
-Must have at least one representative from Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, and Neverwinter Nights
-Can have a maximum of seven representatives from one series/universe (ex three Dragon Age Origins and four Dragon Age II characters all constitute as being from the DA Universe)
-Must be a mixed gender roster (minimum of six female or male characters)
-Cannot use main character/protagonists (Spirit Monk, Commander Shepard, Hawke, Bhaalspawn, Revan)
-Include four DLC characters from any BioWare series you want (can be hero, villain), must have at least one male/female DLC character

Describe traits and fighting style characters would use and why you would want them in the game B)

Sample Roster:

Hero:
01. Alistair
02. Garrus Vakarian
03. Urdnot Wrex
04. Leliana
05. Sagacious Zu
06. Minsc
07. Imoen
08. Liara T'Soni
09. Varric Tethras
10. Carth Onasi
11. Bastila Shan
12. Miranda Lawson

Villain:
01. Edwin
02. Loghain
03. Arishok
04. Sun Li
05. Viconia
06. Morinth
07. HK-47
08. Zevran
09. Morrigan
10. Saren
11. Saverok
12. Jon Irenicus

DLC:
01. Jack/Subject Zero (I just like her)
02. Kai Leng (would be perfect for a fighting game)
03. Tali Zorah (from a marketing standpoint having her as DLC would bring in money as she has many fans)
04. Fenris (see Jack)

It's just a sample roster. Now your turn. :D

Wrex and/or Grunt for the next Smash Bros. Make it happen BiowarEA.

Your rules are hella strict. I haven't even played Jade Empire and Neverwinter Nights. I did play BG and Kotor though.

Well at least stick with 12 heroes/villains and keeping it BioWare franchise rule.

Alright, I present you the roster of... Super Smash Bros Bioware edition.
Don't expect too much out of this list. About all of them are just there because I'd think it would be awesome to fight as them or to pit them against each other.

Heroes:
DA:
1 - Oghren: Drunken berkserker dwarf with axes.
2 - Sten: Unstoppable warrior tank.
3 - Shale: A freaking stone golem.
4 - Anders: Can switch between benevolent healer-type and the destructive power of Justice.
ME:
5 - Wrex: Krogan. With Biotics.
6 - Garrus: The Turian Punisher.
7 - Zaeed: A highly resilient, but also versatile bounty hunter.
8 - Mordin: Has to be him. Someone else might get it wrong.
9 - Samara: Warrior monk-type with powerful Biotics.
BG:
10  - Minsc: And Boo.
Kotor:
11  - Jolee Bindo: Experienced Jedi veteran.
12 - Zaalbar: Wookie.

Villains:
DA:
1 - Morrigan: Powerful mage with shapeshifting powers.
2 - Loghain: Just to beat the **** out of him.
3 - The Baroness: Powerful mage who can turn into a freaking Pride Demon.
4 - Swiftrunner: Werewolf.
ME:
5 - Jack: Bat**** insane Biotic.
6 - Saren: After being enhanced with Reaper tech.
7 - Shadow Broker: Big strong alien monster with an Omni-shield.
8 - Kai Leng: A sword-fighting cyber ninja. (Stupid in an RPG, great in a fighting game)
9 - Javik: Prothean who mocks the opponent.
BG:
10 - Jon Irenicus: Evil magician with godlike powers.
Kotor:
11 - Darth Malak: Dangerously powerful Sith.
12 - HK-47: Robot who likes to murder.

DLC:
1 - Legion: Geth.
2 - Grunt: Who would win - Grunt or Wrex?
3 - Dog: Small, quick, ferocious and suprisingly tough Mabari fighter.
4 - Canderous: Seasoned war veteran.

The Dissidia approach could also be interesting: One hero and one villain from each game (DAO, DA2, ME, ME2, etc.).

Wouldn't work, everyone would want ALL the characters to be there xD

Don't blame them, too. BioWare characters a freaking awesome, even in BioWare's present predicament.

Nice roster ;). Only problem with the Dissidia approach though is there's too many awesome characters to have just one hero/villain, plus Dissidia focused primarily on the main characters, and putting fixed protagonists for custom characters such as Commander Shepard, Hawke, the Warden, would just cause a major crap-storm. It's better to just have multiple fan-favorite supporting characters mixed with a few obscure (like Injustice: Gods Among Us and Super Smash Bros. approach).

Why is HK-47 a villain on peoples' list? He's never played that role in KOTOR.

Sadly, he's not Bioware property. If he was, Kreia would be the only thing I want. Everything else is blah.

Heroes
Dragon Age
1. Duncan: Dual-wielder.  Finisher is a joining ritual that kills you.  Victory phrase is "Submit yourself to the taint!"
2. Alistair:  Is passive-aggressive in that he can both defend and attack with a shield. He whines anytime you hit him (I've got a hole in my sock).  He makes lame taunts whenever he knocks you down.
3. Varric.  Ranged fighter.  Bianca has different "stances" or modes.  Comparable to Green Arrow (Injustice).
4. Isabela. Fast moving, dual-dagger fighter.  Double-bladed attacks like Cervantes (Soul Calibur) along with tumbling attacks like Taki (Soul Calibur).
Baldur's Gate
5. Minsc: Dual-wields Flail of Ages and Crom Faeyr.  Has berserk stance where he loses the ability to block for a few seconds afterwards.  Has attack where Boo goes for opponent's eyes leaving them dazed.
KOTOR
6. Bastila: Uses double-bladed saber.  Fights like Kilik (Soul Calibur).
Jade Empire
7. Henpecked Hou: Drunken fighting.  Has bread-based special moves.
Neverwinter Nights
8. Deekin Scalesinger: Bardic and Red Dragon Disciple abilities.  Whatever that means in a fighting game.
Mass Effect
9. Garrus.  Sniper.  Similar to Deathstroke (Injustice) with ranged gun attacks.  Has repair moves like Cyborg.  If only he'd had them in ME2.
10. Wrex.  Grappler with charging attacks.  Like King (Tekken) or Bane (Injustice).
11. Miranda.  Combination of Nina (Tekken) with pistol moves from Harley Quinn (Injustice).
12. Mordin: Gadget-oriented fighter like Batman (Injustice).  Can set timed blasts with Scorpion pistol.

Villains
Dragon Age
1. Morrigan: Ranged attacks like Raven (Injustice).  Special moves are shapeshift forms that function as different stances such as cougar (yeah, cougar), epilogue dog and black widow.  Can also shoot ravens at you like Batman's (Injustice) mechanical bats.  Also has Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat) frost attacks.  Morrigan gets ALL the things.
2. Arishok: Uses 2-handed axe.  Fights like Nightmare (Soul Calibur).  Finisher is deciding that opponent like Kirkwall cannot be saved.  Basically like the famous table flip gif.
Baldur's Gate
3. Jon Irenicus: Cheap bastard that's good at everything and does more damage than you when using the same moves.  Particularly dangerous in levels with trees.  Has finger of death and can stop time.
4. Bodhi: Fast-moving, melee opponent with claw attacks and life drains.
5. Viconia: Shield and flail. Flail mimics Ivy's (Soul Calibur) chain sword and gets some shield moves from Sophitia (Soul Calibur) and Wonder Woman (Injustice).
6. Sarevok: Finisher pulls you into a nightmare world where he chases you.
KOTOR
7. Malak: Runs around using environmental damage on you.  Not bad for a meatbag.
8. HK-47: Finishing move involves dismembering opponent and putting him/her into a box for efficient transport.
Jade Empire
9. Glorious Strategist: Has counters like Gen Fu (Dead or Alive).
10. Death's Hand: Fights like Darth Vader (Soul Calibur IV, PS3)
Mass Effect
11. Kai Leng: Fights like Nightwing (Injustice)
12. Saren: Has reaper tech and can jump around like a freak.  Can be talked out of a fight sometimes.

Hidden Character
Big Metal Unit: Unlock all Pantaloons achievements to receive this character.

DLC
Beholder: Special move button changes which eye is active.  Cracks jokes.
Elcor: Has mounted canon.  Alternate Costume is Elcor Hamlet.
Blasto the Jellyfish: Fights like Dhalsim (Street Fighter II) only moreso.
Desire Demon: Glides around and attacks you with fabric like Rose (Street Fighter Alpha).

same reason that there is No Hawke, Warden or Shepard. Everyone has their own verison of those characters. Same with the Jedi Exile. I do have a verison of her and she is pretty damn hot.
