As for fun, everyone that made it to my friends list.
Big props to my man Svenswiftwind, met him in the demo and we worked our way up to playing regular gold together.
Also my boys x68ssaECI & X Hawk X 1970 X, both guys lost access to their old accounts and started from scratch with new ones. You guys taught me to never give up...

This is 100% accurate. Sure there is the ramp up time to get better, but no pain, no gain.
Being pulled out of your comfort zone issometimesalways a good thing.
Mind if I fix it?
No, not at all. Probably more true corrected.

When gaming, I always try to have at least one of the following people in my lobby. Hilariousness ensues when they're around. Playing without them is just frustrating.

It's gonna embarrass the crap out of him, so all the more reason to do it: TMB903
I met him very early on in my ME3 MP playing days and I still learn so much from him, but he really helped raise me up from Silver groupie to Gold standard, both from just watching how he plays and also with being ever so patient with answering questions, whether it be here in PMs or back and forth over the mic in-game. Now we're rolling some Plat duos and the learning process just keeps chugging along.
A shout-out also has to go to Rad_Rage (when are you getting your PS3 back from the shop, dude???). I've learned a lot of tips and tricks from him to help my game, and playing Gold duos with him for Cory's tournament helped me learn a LOT about myself as a player... and really honed me enough to finally see success in the Gold solos that had given me so much trouble prior.P51Mus7ang wrote...
In real life I received a promotion in the banking industry that was, at the time pretty significant at a young age, getting a handle on everything I had to learn was pretty trying, I was having a beer one day with a sr exec and he said something that has stuck with me through life, surround yourself with people that are better than you as you will only be as good as your team.
When it comes to MP I have tried to surround myself with players that could show me the ropes, take what works and leave the rest at the door, I also find great pleasure in giving back so I have taken hundreds on to show them what I knew, not only did I learn from them it has made this game a tremendous amount of fun.
This forum has been excellent as well, like a family we have our issues but at the end of the day, it's all good.
I never get tired of Mustang's nuggets of wisdom. This is awesome. And I also agree that this forum feels very much like a family these days, given how long we've all "known" each other and it's a relatively small group.ToLazy4Name wrote...
All of my friends.
However, right now, i'm pushing myself to get better because of Knockingbr4in and the other PS3 Spectres. They're the only people i've met who're actually better than me, plus they actually want ME to join, so i'm practicing for the tryout thing by doing some Gold/Platinum solos. Failed my first attempt at trying out horribly. Gotta learn the tactics for objective waves when there's 10 Phantoms and stuff rolling around.
I've seen you play; you're good enough to get in, dude. Good luck. It's awesome they've asked you about it - I figured one of them probably would have by now. I am still not sure I'm quite practiced enough on Plat yet to try out, so I'm working hard nose-to-the-grindstone on improving my game... I wanna join, too.
Also, sorry for always being grouped up. LOL If you're on tonight, I promise to be available, so shoot me an invite.
You, Megan or kr (no particular order) should get in there to gain some representations for girls.
On topic, all the build guides. Those are the best ropes for learning this game. People at AHF, including xain, yass, Dan, Evil, dida, Yoda, mlowe, Leo, Tfunke etc etc etc are all inspirational to watch and learn from. Never thought I would play Plat, is all.

Only now the enemies are scattered and you have to deal and try to pull them into a position to try control the flow of the wave (where as on a true solo you know where you started, ran to, etc).
The # of games this happens lately astronomically high. That and the number of games where impatient fools go in solo only to spawn in on wave 1 or 2 with the lone ranger dead by the time I load in absolutely peeves me to no end.

In terms of ME MP, I grew up in the harsh conditions of a solitary life pugging my way through silver and eventually gold.
Which was a pain as it took longer for me to begin to extract regularly, than I would've liked - but the time I started extracting regularly was when I could carry the team.
A brutal, but effective way - and I think it's made me a fairly solid player.
So I guess some sort of thanks is in order to all them useless bastards.
But now?: Who makes me play better?
I'll just repeat something that games taught me from a young age (which can be applied to most other things.)
Most of the time - You're only as good as those that you play with.
e.g - if you play with those much worse than yourself, the ceiling is low and you don't have to push yourself, whereas good players force you to increase your game

The frantic running and gunning typically prevalent in gold/plat pug provides for a better environment for testing your spawn location/enemy movement knowledge than an orchestrated glacier platinum run with friends (talking about my own experience and not a generalization). You are constantly at vigil and always checking your 6 o clock for that silent flying ninja crab because someone missiled a lone one at the other side of the map.
Also, BSN because of important/handy information that keeps cropping up thanks to the hard work of the people like corlist, peddro, tyhw, cyonan and the likes...
