Before I did the iff mission i bought all of the ship upgrades, and got loyalty from everyone. did the legion mission and now my crew gets killed. Why would the game allow my crew to be killed if i did all of the loyalty missions and got the upgrades? I read about what your supposed to do but the requirements seem arbitrary...dont land this many times etc etc. I loaded the legion mission to see if i could do anything different but same outcome. WTF?! Why is my crew getting axed, this is dumb. Spent so much time with the loyalty missions.

this is during the joker solo mission fyi not the suicide mission at the end

Your crew will always be abducted during Joker's mission. Storyline-wise, your squadmates are all on the shuttle, so them being more focused wouldn't make ad ifference. Plus EDI is shackled at this point, so she's not as effective in fighting the Collectors, even if the Normandy is upgraded.
