. So you believe they are competent, despite admitting that the aren't shown to be competent? You just don't like the Asari Plotline because it shows them as hypocrites. Why would you be jumping to fight them for any reason? They are helping you in ME2, they are the only people helping you in ME2. The Council and Alliance want nothing to do with you until hell arrives at their door.Xilizhra wrote...
I want to bump up the Council's visible competence some (I believe they're already plenty competent, it's just not shown because don't see those scenarios). It's a terrible and contrived political scenario (the salarians uplifting the yahg is better), and I don't think any postwar game can possibly be good, so I'm hoping they don't appear. And Cerberus... I don't necessarily have to fight them, but it's just not that interesting to be fighting them because they want control; it's not the reason I'd been jumping to fight them since ME2.
LIST: Things you would have LIKED to see in ME3, but didn't...

The asari aren't hypocrites, just that tiny number of matriarchs who knew about the beacon, but it's too easily misinterpreted by legions of drooling idiots both in-game and out. I believe that the Council is competent at civilian matters that Shepard never gets involved with, but they weren't prepared for the proper military response in ME1 and don't let Shepard into the loop in ME2. And Cerberus... because they're untrustworthy sods who are against everything I stand for. But I'm not hugely fond of the Alliance either, as I find it remarkably dull and generic.Steelcan wrote...

. You say it's a time number of matriarchs, but the Asari government is massive, the "highest" levels of government could very well be thousands of officials. Furthermore since the Asari are a direct democracy the people are responsible for their government's actions. The Council is not shown to be any better at Civilan policy. The Volus are unhappy, the humans are unhappy, and many of the other races don't get along as well. That doesn't indicate them doing a good job. If you don't like what Ceberus stands for that is one thing, but wanting to work against your only ally is just stupid.Xilizhra wrote...

Hang on, was this meant to be what we wanted to see before the game came out or just what we want fixed in general? Because I'd still like to see characters using the weapons they had equipped in gameplay in cutscenes! Switching to the defaults unnecessarily is just poor cinematography.
Just a list of things that with the benefit of hindsight you would have liked to see included. Whether it's from a storyline or gameplay perspective is entirely up to you.
And yeah, correct weapons in cutscenes is a perfectly acceptable one.
One I would have really liked to see is more class variation to cutscenes and story. We get a little taster with the Engineer interrupt in Omega, but I would have liked to see certain cutscene situations resolved differently depending on Shep's class - i.e. Engineer shep using tech powers, Adept Shep using Biotics, Infiltrator Shep cloaking, Vanguard Shep charging etc...

On a more serious note: Side missions in which you control the Normandy.
Nothing close to a space sim, just really basic controls like the Hammerhead or the car chase scene in LotSB. Imagine diving through the opposing Reaper fleet in the final battle...
This is actually #1 on my wishlist for the next game.

You can't be directly responsible if you don't know what your government is doing, and having "thousands" of participants would be a gigantic security risk.Steelcan wrote...

One volus ambassador is annoyed, and there are good reasons for not putting the volus on the Council: they're a client race of the turians, and if the volus got a seat, they'd just double the turian vote. As for humans, we just have unrealistic expectations, and have gotten them fulfilled by getting a Council seat unprecedentedly early.
Cerberus is a temporary ally in ME2, but my hope was to gather enough others that I didn't need Cerberus anymore (which happened, as it turns out; I'm not that unsatisfied with what ME3 did).

- A game less rushed, closing more loose ends.
- Increased interaction with his love interest.
- What utilized the plot of dark energy, to connect with ME4,for example, the reapers were defeated, but now need to finish what they were definitively.
- What already show a future replacement pro Shepard.

The Reapers aren't easy to control, an entire galactic coalition needs to finish work on a weapon that's been added to for millions of years. It's not an offscreen plot development half-covered by DLC.o Ventus wrote...

You know, I was blown away when I played Lair of the Shadow Broker. I thought "wow, if Bioware are doing stuff like this, imagine what we might see in ME3!"
The car chase, the Vasir chase and battle, the Yagh battle... it really got my hopes and expectations up.

YES. Also on a related note, seeing a Volus explode after it's suit gets ruptured. Possibly as a comedy moment, with a very messy and horrified looking Shep.

I didn't say Shep would be the one to cause the suit rupture - or even that it would be deliberate. But there's nothing wrong with a little black humour now and then.
Imagine a scene during the Citadel DLC, and a very vocal, obstinate Volus refusing to listen to Shep telling him to take cover during a gunfight. He stands up, yelling something along the lines of
"You humans are all the **wheeze** same, you think you can tell *wheeze* everyone what t-"
**BANG** *POP**
And a very messy Shep with a WTF face.

I've never really been fond of that sort of humor, personally. In any case, taking cover during a gunfight is something that any volus would be eager to do.ElSuperGecko wrote...
