Is it just me or is lady isolde's relationship with her brother-in-law a little too close by normal standards?

Teagan never marries Bella. Ever. This was in the wiki and it caught fire, but it was wrong.

I could've sworn in my Kaitlyn isn't helped enough to marry Teagan runs, Bella did marry Teagan.

Not doubting you, mind you, but rather just saying that I could've sworn I saw that.

I think the confusion comes in over one of Bella's slides.  You have Kaitlyn going to Denerim and opening a foundry and meeting Teagan and getting married.

Then you have Bella, IF she goes to Denerim, opening up a brewery.

I do wonder, though, if initially Bella was going to marry Teagan, because her Denerim slide note says it should only trigger if Kaitlyn wasn't made rich (Kaitlyn will only marry Teagan if she goes to Denerim), but there's no actual condition on that slide orther than she went to Denerim.

I don't know.  I just know it doesn't make sense to think that this particular slide was changed given all the errors and incorrect flags in the epilogue slides that weren't fixed.

*grin* I do sound defensive! This is BSN, where people like me get into heated debates with people who believe just as strongly on the opposite about things like epilogue slides.

FWIW, the smith agrees with you -- that Isolde and Teagan have a thing going, and he says that many of the villagers have the same suspicion. Well, Isolde is suppose to be beautiful (voice aside) and Teagan is hot, and Eamon is, well Eamon. Plus, I'm sure that the villagers loved to talk about their Lord being cuckolded, whether he was or not.

Funny that you kinda sound like my aunt. Usually what she does is that she'll casually apologize right after she slams me against the wall with her wicked words. "I'm sorry, darling, did I hurt your feelings? Now be a good girl and fetch me that tea your mother mentioned"

Yeah, the smith does have a lot to say about his lords and ladies, but by God, he sounds like one of those conspiracists who doesn't leave their house without worrying about getting home-invaded by the templars. Soon he'll be like Nobark from Fallout New Vegas and tells you there's a chupacabra hunting cattles at night with an automatic weapon.

I never thought anything funny was going on with Teagan and Isolde. In fact, he seems quite (appropriately) pissed with her and blames that mess in Redcliffe on her (where it should be). He is perhaps the one truly honorable, honest man in Ferelden.

He is the ONLY one in Redcliffe to treat Alistair like family and expresses genuine pleasure that Alistair survived Ostagar (and will ask about him if Al isn't in your party in the initial meet and greet). Eamon might be glad Alistair survived as well, but that smacks more of him using the lad to get rid of Loghain/Anora.

He also holds no prejudices toward the lady warden, flirting with her regardless of race/class. In fact, his best line comes when you play a lady mage.

Whatever other flaws she has, Isolde loves her husband very much and loved him even before they married. Her codex even says something about defying her family to fall for the 'dashing rebel' she perceives Eamon to be (whether this is just foolish fantasy or not, that was her perception). The particular man spreading rumors about a supposed affair between Isolde and her brother in law lives all the way in Lothering. How the hell would he know? He's never seen them, only heard secondhand what's going on.

All I see there is a closeness that comes with familial loyalties/affection. Perhaps he feels a little envy for Eamon's happiness, but I always got the feeling Teagan didn't want someone as selfish, entitled and manipulative as Isolde, and that could have been part of the reason he chose to forestall marriage for so long.  I address this particular issue in my fanfic and have him explain to the protagonist that he simply didn't meet the right girl at the right time.  And if you choose the right choices in game he ends up with Bella or Kaitlyn. It became a matter of finding the right woman at the right time.

Agreed.

I think he always considered Isolde a blight on the Family.  He loves his nephew  but thats it.

Ditto.

When you're discussing Connor's options, Teagan isn't exactly very comforting to Isolde. I mean yes, it is by and large her fault, but it seems she does realise how badly she's ****ed up and is now desperate to save the one thing she's fought to defend all along - her child. You'd think Teagan would be a little more sympathetic if he was sweet on her,

It sounded to me like Teagan and his nephew are just close, which is why Isolde thought he could get through to him.

And I don't think it's because they're secretly father and son. A lot of kids have a "cool uncle" that they love to pal around with and do stuff with. And in Connor's case, that's Teagan.

I always thought it was a relief Connor went to the Circle.  He got away from her. She seemed the smothering type.

They actually had a Teagan/Connor quest they cut out in DA2. I think you rescued Connor or something.

Thanks, guys. All your comments are really thoughtful. They really helped. I've been busy, so I'm sorry I haven't got the chance to reply to all of you.

I didn't really think so. Perhaps; I guess my mother and her brother-in-law are closer than most, since they were good friends in college (my uncle actually introduced her to my father). Some in-laws are just closer than others, I suppose. Not to mention, drastic times bring people together.

So...you didn't know that your uncle is actually your dad? :o:happy::lol:

Kidding, kidding! Please don't kill me Justicar, have mercy!
