And MaleShep gets the better slice. FemShep just has tons of lesbian romances.
Maybe because everyone here still has their V-card and still likes to see two chicks do it (it doesn't work for me anymore sadly), or maybe there is an honest amount of players that actually like the romance arc and are homosexuals themselves and choose that romance because they like RPing. Idk.

It depends on what you like and what you are looking for. My fav is Femshep and Liara as Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis have the best chemistry together as voice actors.
This is how I feel too. It made the LotSB mission immensely more satisfying for me, as well as some of the stuff Shep and Liara say during some missions. Having another squadmate tease along with you makes it funnier.

2. Lesbian Femshep
3. Straight Femshep
4. Gay MShep
There are so many random Lesbian romances in ME, I kind of get the vibe that they were only thrown in there because the Bioware writers thought the fans would be able to masturbate furiously to it. Almost all of them (With the notable exception of Liara, who IMO got too much screen time) are just SEXSEXSEXSEX. If they were doing it for story purposes, it wouldn't have taken them 3 games to put in a gay male romance.
My least favorite defense Bioware has ever used has GOT to be "Liara doesn't count as a lesbian romance, she's asari". FFS, she has ******!

The bisexual relationships and same sex relationships dont really factor into my decision.

Personally I enjoy Ashley with my male Shepard and Liara with my female Shepard but it all comes down to what you would enjoy. For me, they are both equally good.

Based on what I have seen, Thane's looks to hold promise.

Jack
Tali
Miranda
I don't like Ashley, I won't count her.
On the plus side for femshep:
Sam
Garrus
Kaidan
Each have their own appeal. Comparing which one's better would be comparing apples with pears.
Spoiler
Slapping a certain someone in Citadel DLC has its very own appeal...

MaleShep. And I think this can explain why...
That's a cute image, but I think it needs some editing in light of the Citadel DLC. Add Javik and James to FemSheps' side, add Samara to both sides, remove the cross from Thane's image and replace the word 'Scrapped' with 'Slapped' for Jacob.
Without a doubt, FemShep is superior.

One night stands are not "romances", so Javik and James do not count. Especially since the content with James is actually kinda revolting and I think Javik is just trolling Shep.
If they don't count, then neither do Kelly or Allers. They were equally shallow, but with the added bonus of being lesser characters to begin with.

This isn't mine, I just found it on a thread a little while back. However, it does need a little bit of tailoring after Citadel. Maybe put something for one-night stands?

I agree, actually. I don't really care how many ManShep gets since FemShep has access to two of the best romances content wise (Liara and Garrus) and one of the most emotional (Thane w/Citadel DLC). Quality over quantity. And, although I've never played it, I hear Traynor's romance is awesome as well.

FemShep wins in my books simply by the fact that she is the only one that can romance Garrus.A romance that has one of the best arcs in the whole damn series. Friends to lovers is so awesome and something that I have never seen in any Bioware game. But maybe I'm biased, I only play femshep and Garrus is my favorite character.
And this is why I think Garrus has the best romance across the trilogy.
You have to at least KNOW garrus for 1 game before you can romance him...In ME2, if for some reason you didn't recruit Garrus in ME1, you can't romance him which to me anyway indicates that you had to be friends first. In ME3, if you hadn't romanced him in ME2, you can't start a new romance with him which makes sense as he's totally focused on the war.
I like this romance arc...of all the available romances, it feels the most natural.

It's Male Shepard who gets the best (and most) romances; and ultimately the best one is with Miranda. This is coming from a long time Ashley/Shepard player. The scene at the end of the last DLC sold me on the Miranda/Shepard relationship. The voice acting was spot on / the character animations were spot on. It felt right.
For FemShep, I actually "started" a romance with Kaidan but he was "lost" on Virmire, and played her as if she was missing him throughout the rest of the trilogy.
Again, my opinion on this, but the Jacob hate is really just misdirected. If I can go off-tangent from the OP for a moment; the main problem with Jacob, isn't actually Jacob: It's FemShep. She comes off TOO strong on every conversation with him, as if she hadn't seen the male species before. I actually blame the voice director/coach on this because the delivery is all wrong. And when Jacob does actually "return the favor" he comes off the same way and THAT feels too strong as well.
