 Following today's theme of cheese, it seems as if Acolyte Hurricane is perhaps one of the cheesiest weapons combos in the game. Ultra light (both weapons), each weapons fills its niche EXTREMELY well and they can be used at the same time. 
Now, this combo may not be the best on weapons classes as they can carry far heavier weapons that could arguably outdo this combo, but the sheer amount of versatility and pros this setup has going for it makes it cheesy IMO (I still indulge in its cheese all the time). 

Not wanting to start a flame war (even though I may have set a spark possibly) but just some thoughts.

In my experience nothing beats the Black Widow X on any infiltrator.

Extremely Effective-Yes
Cheesy-I guess success is cheesy

the real cheese is how brutal the weapon balance is in this game, that there are only a couple of optimal options for each weapon sub group.

It's pretty much the goto caster combo. The fact that you get power damage weapon mods also helps. Really the Hurricane, Acolyte, and Reegar should be looked at, but it's too late for that.

I don't know, you use it on caster classes anyway so you shouldn't be using the two as your main source of damage.

Acolyte cheese... yeah probably. That's why I was one of those who wanted its charge mechanic back.

when ppl say stuff like acolyte is "too easy" and then suggest using the geth scanner for wall hacking..... what do u expect... eat the fools, airlock the ignorant, and ignore the hippocrits, there would be about 2 ppl left here...

It is an optimal (see various flavours of cheese) combo, but I find the weapon switch animation painfully slow so generally avoid chopping and changing weapons all that much. And the Hurricane provides enough DPS that the time spent changing to and then back from the Acolyte is moot unless we are dealing with some large range.

I guess that makes me a sissy who needs a crutch to succeed . I wouldn't use that combo on a character like the GI, but if I'm rolling with a kit like the Volus Engineer on Platinum, you can probably bet that I'll be running with that setup.

I wouldn't call it cheesy, it's just an effective combo. Something like warp/incendiary ammo/Reegar or inferno nades/incendiary ammo/Reegar is cheesy.

We should all run with no spec old turians with non-modded shurikens without using consumables in the thunderdome. volus are too OP, they still have a dodge and light melee cloak.

I literally only use this combo on the OG Asari Adept, and I don't come here looking for build advice; I discovered it myself. I thought I was being a revolutionary when it first clicked..

Oh well. I like it; It's an effective build and I sure as hell don't plan on changing it because BSN thinks its cheesy.

This is the only real answer to topics like this.  If there were more viable options, maybe you'd start seeing more diversity, but there aren't, so you won't, and with balance changes over, that's not going to change.

Me, too.

Actually, I run ULM Hurricane on everything. Except now, because I'm grinding challenges, so for the moment, I'm running the Hornet on everything. When I get all the SMG Challenges done, I'll go back to ULM Hurricane on everything. I like to live.

Yea, most of the people on here think that if you can't solo Platinum/Collectors with a level 1 Volus with a Predator and no equipment then you're a scumbag noob pug that needs to l2p and all that.

Does anybody else find it dumb that in a lot of gaming communities it's commonplace to put "lol" somewhere in the name of halfway decent usable weapons/items/characters?

I guess why play with a Juggerlol/Krololrd/Lolus/Collolcter/Turian Glolst or Sentinlol/Cablol/Taloln/Geth Infloltrator or Sloldier anyway?

And screw using weapons outside of the provenger. The lolgar, Piranhlol, Clolmore, Blolk Widow, Javelol, M-7 Lolncer, Spitlol, lolphoon, lolicane, lolnet, lolnifex, Arc pistlol, or Collolctor SMG/Sniper are all for n00bs who need to l2p with REAL weapons. Same goes for using any lolgear or lolconsumables. Real pros shouldn't buy packs to begin with. There are nothing but crutches to be found in them.
