What would your companions choose as the ending? This is assuming they were with/informed by the starchild. Shepard is a very personal character who's actions and decisions may vary on different playthroughs. Many players have provided reasoning for their shepard's ending choice and all the endings can be justified one way or another. Im curious of what the characters and companions of the mass effect series would choose as their ending. I don't want this to provoke a flame war over which ending is better, I simply want your opinions on what the characters might have chosen. Please provide explanations and or evidence! put some thought into it!

For Ex:
TIM: Control- Wants to see humanity on top and reapers utilized for his own ends
Saren: Synthesis- Wants a union of flesh and steel that make reapers and organics compatable
Anderson: Destroy- Wants an end to the reapers and their harvesting for good
My personal opinions on these characters (feel free to add more in your post)
Im going into detail with 5 because I could be here all day providing explanations

Ashely: Destroy- Very distrustful of the reapers and believes they need to be destroyed
Garrus: Destroy/Control
Liara: Synthesis
Kaidan: Destroy/Control
Tali: Destroy- Had a hatred of AIs but legion changed her,still, she wants to live free of the reapers with shepard
Joker: Synthesis
EDI: Sythesis- Wants to see a bridge between organics and synthetics and peacful coexistance
Mordin: Control-synthesis dangerous. like uplifting the krogan. control. someone else might have gotten it wrong.
Wrex: Destroy
Grunt: Destroy
Samara: Control
Zaeed: Destroy/Control
Thane: Synthesis
Miranda: Control
Javik: Destroy
Legion: Synthesis- Belives in trancending and peace with organics

Garrus would definately choose destroy, he's not as soft hearted about the geth and EDI as my Shep is. Well, maybe EDI, but definately not the geth.

Only ones I can see choosing anything other than destroy are Legion, EDI and Joker. Maybe Tali if you made peace since the Geth are helping them assimilate back to their planet so quickly. If the Geth are dead, she'd pick destroy.

Everyone else, it would be like the scene from the Citadel with everyone with guns drawn shooting the hell out that tube, especially those that saw the massacres that occured on their homeworlds.

Kaidan would pick destroy. He's been with us since the beginning and knows about the threat of the Reapers and is the most paragon of all squadmates (my opinion). I think Kaidan's philosophy fits better with destroy because he believes in the organics of the galaxy, so the galaxy won't need them to be a guiding force like in synthesis and control.

I don't get the idea that Miranda would ever pick Control. She loathes the idea of her own father controlling her life, and she ultimately regrets wanting to control Shepard. On top of both of these, she wants Oriana to live her own life, free of influence from Henry.

Miranda made a pretty big deal about feeling regret about wanting that control chip.
I think she's done with wanting to control everything.
She'd go for destroy. Maybe synthesis if glowboy convinced her it would make her fertile.

Liara would go for control. That's pretty much what she did when she took over as the shadow broker.

It really depends on how you interpret said companions. Personally, I don't know, Jack would probably pick Destroy.

Or maybe it's me just wanting her to pick it.

Its just my opinion nothing says thats what she would have done;) My reasoning was that she initally followed the illusive man and possibly shared a belief in controling of the reapers for the good of humanity. Now for a love interest, miranda might want the reapers destroyed because her relationship with shepard overwrote her previous beliefs. Its all subjective I just think its an interesting topic.

Jack = Destroy. No question, IMO.

As to the rest of the squad, one should look no further than this fanbase to see that not people don't always do what they're mentally conditioned to do. Sure, most fans Destroy, going off BSN polls. Yet still plenty of others choose something else. We can change our minds, so can our squadmates.


My response to OP... (assume everyone else is Destroy)

Liara: Control.
EDI: Sync (theoretically).
Thane: Sync.
Legion: Sync (again, theoretically).
Samara: Refuse (she cannot sacrifice, she cannot take slaves, and she cannot show mercy).
Mordin: Sync (I reject the "we're not ready"-nonsense and I bet Mordin would too).

I see Kaidan as a wildcard (Destroy/Sync). ME3 Miranda would Destroy, but ME2 Miranda would have Control'd.

They don't need Synthesis, they'd probably choose Destroy, and take measures to ensure their survival.

Very few will answer this properly. All have an emotional investment in trying to get everyone to choose Destroy because their own egos demand it, or something. These threads are utterly pointless as a result.

I think they understand the Catalysts' perspective on Synthesis better than anyone. Which is why they'd never choose it. They'd understand that it's meant to be a solution for the Catalyst, not a solution for life.

Well, you have to consider, regardless of certain posts saying everyone will pick destroy, each character can be viewed differently by other people - where others see EDI as Control, I see her as Synth because of own interpretation of her.
