You're not doing anything wrong, you're you and I am I. It should be spontaneous IMO, if you end up shedding a tear or two during a scene, don't force that sort of emotion.

You can't force real emotion. You're either emotionally engaged, or you're not. It's not a bad thing, either. Some things don't connect with you the way they would with someone else.

Don't listen to those two liberals. If you don't cry when Mordin gets it, you're a monster.

Reminds me of a quote:

“She was, in fact, quite a pleasant looking girl, even if her bosom had clearly been intended for a girl two feet taller; but she was not Her. The Egregious Professor of Grammar and Usage would have corrected this to "she was not she," which would have caused the Professor of Logic to spit out his drink.”

I'm pretty sure the "I wanna kill myself because my favorite video game NPC died." or "I sleep with a Tali body pillow." types have mental health issues.

I almost! shed a tear at the original Destroy ending. Could not believe that was my reward for being a loyal fan to the series and Bioware. Now if that could not make me cry maybe you should just man/woman up and stop bleeding that vagina. As for emotional engagement... Do we actually have to go /sigh and /babypandatears when something happens? Can't we just be cowboys and beat the **** out our horse in silence?

Hahahaha...classic.

"Why can't I feel emotion?"

In all seriousness though...you can't just "get emotionally engaged".

You either are or you are not.

Mass Effect is not for you. It was designed to cry a river when Mordin dies.
It might help, perhaps, you can try FIFA or something.
No hard feelings eyh.

I don't understand the person that wants others to make him feel emotionally invested in a game, or anything for that matter. You either are or you're not, that's it. There's nothing wrong with not crying in these games, and there's nothing wrong with crying. If the game doesn't hit you that deeply, then you simply just don't care as much as other people, and so what? Personally I did get teary eyed in certain parts, because I truly cared about the characters in this trilogy. What is really the advantage to you as the gamer, if you're having to reach out to other people and make them convince you to give a damn? Just seems like a waste of time, I mean play the game, and enjoy it the best you can.

I've never cried, but I have certainly encountered some sad moments.

Blowing a hole through Mordin's torso and sabotaging the genophage was very emotional, even though it was for the greater good.

War... war never changes.

1) Play Mass Effect 1
2) Choose colonist background
3) Play through the "I Remember Me" side quest.

None of the Mass Effect games have ever made me cry or get on the verge of. The only time I can remember getting actual emotions in the series was in Mass Effect 1 at the end when all the ships warp in and attack Sovereign, what an epic moment, and when talking with Vigil/Sovereign which gave the best shivers ever.

Don't listen to this guy. If you cried when a virtual character died, you're a **** who probably faints at the site of blood.
