I was just wondering if anyone knew, devs or otherwise, if when importing a saved game from the first Mass Effect if you'll be able to change a few things about the character.

I've heard that you are able to change your class? confirm/deny? But I was also curious if you can also change the looks of your character from the first game. I want to import my level 60 character but I really do not like his face anymore and would love to be able to change his face before starting my Mass Effect 2 playthrough.

Also what I heard that using a higher level character from the first game gives you certain benfits in Mass Effect 2? I was wondering what those were exactly?

Finally, lets say that I want to start a fresh character/playthrough in Mass Effect 2 without importing a character. Can I set up certain outcomes that occured in the first game for that character? Or am I forced to use a set up storyline?

Thanks for your time.

I can answer some of these, yes you change your looks and class in ME2 with an imported character. The bonuses are not exactly known but BioWare has said that it will be "increased" experience and resources for research.

As far as setting outcomes for a fresh ME2 run yes you can but the extent is not fully known yet how much you can set. You cannot change anything from an imported save, decision wise though. Also your Paragon or Renegade status will carry over in some form giving you an early bonus in either area.

You can change your class. You can change your appearence. We don't know what the benifits are yet.

As far as we know, there's no way to change the choices you've made in either an imported or 'fresh' game.

fresh game you get asked questions and that can determine what happened in the past.
